    Introduction About NEXOVAS BETA TABLET

    NEXOVAS BETA TABLET is a combination of Nebivolol and Cilnidipine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihypertensives. It is used in the management of essential hypertension that occurs when you have abnormally high blood pressure, not because of a medical condition.

    Hypertension is a condition in which force of the blood is consistently high against the walls of the arteries which can increase the risk of heart disease, kidney disease and stroke. It is characterized by symptoms such as blurry vision, chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, fatigue, mental confusion, nosebleed and severe headaches.

    NEXOVAS BETA TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with serious kidney problems, lung diseases such as asthma or wheezing, liver function disorders, heart diseases such as heart failure, heart conduction disorders or very slow heartbeat, diabetic ketoacidosis, unmanageed phaeochromocytoma, serious circulation problems and low blood pressure.

    NEXOVAS BETA TABLET should be used with caution in patients who have diabetes, overactive thyroid gland, allergy, peripheral oedema and who are planned for any scheduled surgery which requires anesthesia.  

    NEXOVAS BETA TABLET should not be used by pregnant or breast-feeding women, children and adolescents below 18 years of age. NEXOVAS BETA TABLET should be used with caution in elderly individuals above 75 years of age.

    The most common side effects of taking NEXOVAS BETA TABLET are headache, dizziness, constipation, nausea, diarrhea, shortness of breath and tiredness. Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.

    How NEXOVAS BETA TABLET Works

    NEXOVAS BETA TABLET helps to reduce high blood pressure, where nebivolol works by reducing the force of contraction of the heart muscles by the blocking the effects of certain hormones called adrenaline and making the heart to beat more easily thus it lowers the blood pressure and cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker which decreases the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and enhances easy flow of blood to the heart muscles.

    How to use NEXOVAS BETA TABLET

    Take NEXOVAS BETA TABLET as advised by your doctor. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of NEXOVAS BETA TABLET

    Common

    • headache, dizziness
    • tiredness
    • unusual feeling of itching or tingling
    • diarrhoea, constipation
    • nausea
    • shortness of breath
    • swollen hands or feet
    • flushing
    • low blood pressure
    • peripheral oedema
    • fast heart rate
    • palpitations (sensation of fast heartbeat)
    • gastrointestinal disturbances
    • increased frequency of urination
    • lethargy

    Uncommon

    • slow heartbeat
    • cramp-like leg pains on walking
    • abnormal vision
    • impotence (inability to maintain erection)
    • indigestion, gas in stomach or bowel, vomiting
    • skin rash and itching
    • breathlessness such as in asthma (due to sudden cramps in the muscles around the airways)
    • bronchospasm nightmares

    Rare

    Stop taking NEXOVAS BETA TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • signs of allergic reactions such as whole body allergic reaction with generalized skin eruption

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Nausea:

    Take this medicine with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if your symptom does not improve.

    Constipation:

    Eat plenty of fiber rich foods such as vegetables, fresh fruits, cereals and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly. Consult your doctor if your symptom does not improve.

    Diarrhea:

    Drink lot of fluids such as water, squash or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not take any medicine on your own for managing diarrhea without consulting your doctor. Consult your doctor if your symptom does not improve.

    Headache:

    Try to take rest and don’t involve yourself in exertive activities. Apply a pain-relieving balm on your forehead if required. Consult your doctor if your symptom does not improve.

    Tiredness:

    Drink plenty of fluids and eat balanced diet and frequent meals. Do regular minimal exercise and follow regular sleep schedule. Consult your doctor if your symptom does not improve.

    Warning & Precautions

    Pregnancy

    NEXOVAS BETA TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless it is considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking NEXOVAS BETA TABLET.

    Breastfeeding

    NEXOVAS BETA TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking NEXOVAS BETA TABLET.

    Driving and Using Machines

    Do not drive or operate any machines if you experience dizziness or tiredness after taking NEXOVAS BETA TABLET.

    Kidney

    NEXOVAS BETA TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having serious kidney problems. Consult your doctor before taking NEXOVAS BETA TABLET.

    Liver

    NEXOVAS BETA TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with liver function disorders. It should be used with caution in patients with liver dysfunction or elevated liver enzymes. Consult your doctor before taking NEXOVAS BETA TABLET.

    Allergy

    Do not take NEXOVAS BETA TABLET if you are allergic to Nebivolol or Cilnidipine.

    Lungs

    NEXOVAS BETA TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having lung disease such as asthma or wheezing. It should be used with caution in patients having prolonged breathing problems. Consult your doctor before taking NEXOVAS BETA TABLET.

    Heart Disease

    NEXOVAS BETA TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having heart disease such as second- and third-degree atrioventricular block, heart conduction disorders, very slow heartbeat, heart failure or undergoing management for circulatory shock. It should be used with caution in patients who have unmanageed chronic heart failure, abnormally slow heartrate and first-degree heart block. Consult your doctor before taking NEXOVAS BETA TABLET.

    Others

    NEXOVAS BETA TABLET is not recommended for use if you have:

    • unmanageed phaeochromocytoma
    • metabolic disorder such as diabetic ketoacidosis
    • serious circulation problems in the arms or legs
    • low blood pressure
    • rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption

    Before taking NEXOVAS BETA TABLET tell your doctor if you have:

    • diabetes
    • overactive thyroid gland
    • peripheral oedema
    • surgery and requires anesthesia
    • poor circulation in legs or arms

    Use in pediatrics:

    NEXOVAS BETA TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (under 18 years of age) due to lack of safety and effectiveness. Consult your child’s doctor for advice.

    Use in geriatrics:

    NEXOVAS BETA TABLET should be used with caution in patients above 75 years of age. Consult your doctor before taking NEXOVAS BETA TABLET.

    Interactions

    A. Drug – Drug Interactions:

    Before taking NEXOVAS BETA TABLET inform to your doctor, if you are taking any of these medicines:

    • medicines used for controlling the blood pressure or heart problems (Ex. amiodarone, clonidine, digoxin, diltiazem, disopyramide, methyldopa, mexiletine, moxonidine, felodipine, flecainide, guanfacine, hydroquinidine, lacidipine, nicardipine, nifedipine, nimodipine, nitrendipine, propafenone, amlodipine, cibenzoline, quinidine, rilmenidine, verapamil and quinidine)
    • medicines used for managing mental illness and epilepsy (Ex. phenobarbital, amobarbital)
    • medicines used in the management of schizophrenia and depressive disorders (Ex. thioridazine, amitriptyline, paroxetine, fluoxetine)
    • phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine, promethazine (used for managing vomiting and nausea)
    • medicines used for anesthesia during an operation (Ex. lidocaine)
    • medicines used in the management of asthma (Ex. salbutamol, terbutaline)
    • medicines used in the management of glaucoma (Ex. acetazolamide)
    • baclofen (used to relieve muscle spasm and pain)
    • medicines used during cancer management (Ex. amifostine, aldesleukin)
    • medicines used for managing excessive stomach acid or ulcers (Ex. cimetidine)
    • mefloquine (medicine used in malaria management)
    • medicines used in the management of bacterial infections (Ex. rifampicin, erythromycin)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of NEXOVAS BETA TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Overdosage symptoms of NEXOVAS BETA TABLET are very slow heartbeat, low blood pressure with possible fainting, breathlessness such as in asthma and acute heart failure.

    No, you should follow the instructions of your doctor while taking NEXOVAS BETA TABLET. When stopped taking suddenly it will increase your blood pressure severely. If you have symptoms of low blood pressure (such as dizziness, light-headedness, blurred vision) or if you experience severe drop in blood pressure while taking NEXOVAS BETA TABLET, consult your doctor immediately.

    What to do if I miss to take a dose of NEXOVAS BETA TABLET?

    You should take NEXOVAS BETA TABLET immediately when you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dose schedule. Do not double the dose to match up your missed dose.
