NEODROX 250MG TABLET contains Cefadroxil which belongs to the group of medicines called Cephalosporin antibiotics. It is used in children to manage bacterial infections of the throat and upper part of the respiratory tract, skin and soft tissues, and the urinary tract. A bacterial infection can be defined as a proliferation of various harmful strains of bacteria in the body. They can affect any part(s) of the body including the respiratory tract, urinary tract, eyes, ears, skin, soft tissue, or bones.
NEODROX 250MG TABLET must be taken with meals to avoid unwanted gastrointestinal side effects. Your doctor will decide the suitable dose for your child depending upon their age, body weight and severity of the infection.
Make sure that your child does not miss a dose of NEODROX 250MG TABLET, as it may lead to growth of harmful bacteria within their body which cannot be further controlled by NEODROX 250MG TABLET.

- vaginal fungal infections or ‘thrush’

- unexplained bruising or bleeding, which may be due to reduced platelets
- fever, feeling weak, generally unwell, muscle pain with or without swollen glands (serum sickness)
- joint pain

- signs of infections (such as fever, general weakness, sore throat or mouth and problems in passing urine)
- severe allergic reaction (such as skin rash, itching, swelling of the face, tongue or pharynx, difficulty to swallow or breathe and chest tightness)
- signs of kidney problems (such as bloody or cloudy urine, scanty or no urine accompanied with lower back pain)
- inflammation of the colon (colitis) with bloody diarrhea
- severe skin reactions causing blistering of the skin, mouth, eyes, and genitals
- signs of low RBC count (such as yellow or pale skin, weakness, or breathlessness)
How To Manage Side Effects
Diarrhea
Make sure that your child drinks plenty to fluids, such as water or fruit juices to keep themselves hydrated. Consuming ORS can also be beneficial. Do not self-manage diarrhea on your own. Consult your doctor if your child experience severe diarrhea with blood stains.
Nausea And Vomiting
Make sure that your child takes NEODROX 250MG TABLET with or just after meals. Eating a simple meal can be beneficial. Avoid giving them oil rich or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if nausea worsens in your child.

- diuretics (used to increase urine output) Ex. furosemide
Overdosage:
If your child accidentally took more NEODROX 250MG TABLET consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdosage might include allergic reaction causing dizziness or breathing difficulties, low blood pressure, abnormal heartbeat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, skin eruptions or muscular contractions.
