    Introduction About NEDOLIDE SP TABLET

    NEDOLIDE SP TABLET is a combination of Nimesulide, Paracetamol and Serratiopeptidase which belongs to the group of medicines called Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory drugs and Analgesics & Antipyretics respectively. It is used to manage acute pain in extra-articular (other than joint) disorders and osteoarthritis (disorder affecting weight-bearing joints). It can also be used to manage post-operative pain, and primary dysmenorrhea (period cramps).

    Pain can be defined as an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience related to actual or potential tissue damage. It is always a personal experience that varies by biological, psychological and social factors.

    Before taking NEDOLIDE SP TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any severe liver, kidney, heart, or bleeding problems, stomach ulcers, or diabetes.

    NEDOLIDE SP TABLET is not recommended for use in third trimester of pregnancy and in breastfeeding women, so consult your doctor before taking it.

    NEDOLIDE SP TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 12 years of age). Consult your doctor before taking it.

    The most common side effects of taking NEDOLIDE SP TABLET are ulcers in the stomach and upper part of the small intestine, hole in the intestinal wall, bleeding of the digestive tract, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting. Contact your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

    Uses Of NEDOLIDE SP TABLET

    It is used to relieve acute pain in:

    • extra-articular disorders
    • osteoarthritis
    • post-operative pain
    • primary dysmenorrhea

    How NEDOLIDE SP TABLET Works

    NEDOLIDE SP TABLET relieves pain and inflammation where Nimesulide and Paracetamol works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for inducing pain and fever, and Serratiopeptidase works by breaking down abnormal proteins at the site of inflammation and aids healing.

    How to use NEDOLIDE SP TABLET

    Take NEDOLIDE SP TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of NEDOLIDE SP TABLET

    Common

    • ulcers in the stomach and upper section of the small intestine
    • hole in the intestinal wall
    • bleeding in the digestive tract
    • diarrhoea
    • nausea, vomiting
    • minor changes in liver function tests

    Uncommon

    • breathlessness
    • dizziness
    • increased blood pressure
    • constipation
    • flatulence
    • stomach inflammation
    • sweating
    • swelling

    Rare

    • anaemia, decrease or increase (in white blood cells)
    • blood pressure changes
    • increased heart rate
    • trouble passing urine, stoppage of urine, blood in urine
    • increased blood potassium levels
    • anxiety, nervousness, nightmares
    • blurred eyesight
    • skin flushing, redness, or inflammation
    • feeling generally unwell, tiredness

    Stop taking NEDOLIDE SP TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • stomach discomfort or pain, bleeding from your stomach or intestine, passing black stools
    • wheezing
    • abnormal change in the amount or color of urine
    • swollen face, feet or legs
    • hypersensitivity reaction (skin rash or redness, blisters, hives, itching, breathlessness, swelling)
    • severe skin problems (steven johnson-syndrome or Lyell syndrome)
    • respiratory disorders (Loffler-Syndrome or pneumonitis)
    • low blood pressure
    • abnormal liver condition (loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, persistent tiredness or dark urine, yellow skin or the whites of your eyes)
    • fever, flu-like symptoms (feeling generally achy and unwell, chills, or shivering)

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Nausea or Vomiting:

    Take NEDOLIDE SP TABLET with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods. Get adequate rest. Drink lots of fluids, especially water. Have small sips if you feel sick. Do not take any medicine for nausea or vomiting without asking your doctor. If vomiting does not improve, contact your doctor.

    Diarrhoea:

    Drink lots of fluids, like water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor. If diarrhea does not improve, contact your doctor.

    Warning & Precautions

    Pregnancy

    NEDOLIDE SP TABLET is not recommended for use in third trimester (last three months) of pregnancy. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Breastfeeding

    NEDOLIDE SP TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Driving and Using Machines

    Do not drive or use any machines if you experience dizziness, spinning sensation, sleepiness, nausea, tiredness, or headache after taking NEDOLIDE SP TABLET.

    Alcohol

    NEDOLIDE SP TABLET is not recommended for use in patients suffering from alcoholism. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Kidney

    NEDOLIDE SP TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with non-dialyzed severe kidney failure. NEDOLIDE SP TABLET should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate kidney problems. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Liver

    NEDOLIDE SP TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with an impaired liver function. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Allergy

    Do not drive or use any machines if you experience dizziness, spinning sensation, sleepiness, nausea, tiredness, or headache after taking NEDOLIDE SP TABLET.

    Heart Disease

    NEDOLIDE SP TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe heart failure. NEDOLIDE SP TABLET should be used with caution in patients with high blood pressure or cholesterol, mild heart disease, or circulatory problems. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Others

    NEDOLIDE SP TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

    • had bleeding or holes in your stomach or intestines  
    • have or had stomach or bowel ulcers or bleeding
    • had a stroke (bleeding into the brain)
    • have any other bleeding problem due to your blood not clotting
    • have fever or flu

    Before taking NEDOLIDE SP TABLET inform your doctor if you:

    • have diabetes
    • are a smoker
    • have ulcerative colitis or crohn’s disease

    Use in pediatrics:

    NEDOLIDE SP TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 12 years of age). Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Use in geriatrics:

    NEDOLIDE SP TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Interactions

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before taking NEDOLIDE SP TABLET inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • medicines used to manage inflammatory conditions (Ex. hydrocortisone, prednisolone)
    • medicine used to thin the blood (Ex. warfarin, aspirin)
    • medicines used to control blood pressure or heart conditions (Ex, propranolol, furosemide)
    • lithium (used to manage mood disorders)
    • medicines used to manage depression (Ex. citalopram, escitalopram, fluoxetine)
    • methotrexate (used to manage rheumatoid arthritis and cancer)
    • cyclosporin (used after transplantation or to manage immune system disorders)
    • medicines used to relieve pain and inflammation (Ex. paracetamol, celecoxib)
    • medicines that cause addiction (Ex. codeine, fentanyl)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally took too much of NEDOLIDE SP TABLET contact your doctor immediately. Symptoms of NEDOLIDE SP TABLET overdose include drowsiness, nausea, stomach pain or bleeding, difficulty breathing, or liver damage.
