    INTRODUCTION ABOUT NAPROSYN 10% GEL

    NAPROSYN 10% GEL contains Naproxen which belongs to the group of medicines called Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is used to relieve pain in the management of conditions such as muscle pain (myalgia), lumbar pain, bursitis (stiff neck and inflammation of bursa near a joint or tendon), inflammation of tendons (tendinitis), inflammation of synovia surrounding tendons (tenosynovitis), inflammation around a joint (periarthritis), strained muscles, contusions and hematoma.

    It is also used as a supportive therapy in rehabilitation following trauma and/or orthopaedic surgery.

    NAPROSYN 10% GEL is not recommended for use in patients with allergic to Naproxen or have experienced allergic diseases such as asthma, urticaria, rhinitis, nasal polyps, angioedema and anaphylactic reactions after the intake of medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid and/or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines.

    NAPROSYN 10% GEL is not recommended for use in pregnant women during the third trimester of pregnancy and should be used only if considered necessary for pregnant women or women planning to have a baby and for breastfeeding women as it may harm the foetus.

    NAPROSYN 10% GEL is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 12 years. Consult your doctor for advice.

    Stop using NAPROSYN 10% GEL and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any signs of hypersensitivity reactions like facial swelling around the eyes (angioedema) with a mixed pattern of skin rash and respiratory symptoms including cough, breathlessness, runny nose, tearing or upper respiratory tract swelling.

    USES OF NAPROSYN 10% GEL

    It is used to relieve pain in the management of conditions such as:

    • muscle pain  
    • lumbar pain
    • bursitis  
    • inflammation of tendons  
    • inflammation of synovia surrounding tendons
    • inflammation around a joint
    • strained muscles
    • contusions and
    • hematoma

    HOW NAPROSYN 10% GEL WORKS

    NAPROSYN 10% GEL blocks the release of a substance called prostaglandin in the body. Prostaglandins are responsible for the signs of inflammation such as pain and fever. This anti-inflammatory action is useful in the reduction of pain, stiffness, swelling, and fever related to inflammation for long term.

    DIRECTIONS FOR USE

    Always use NAPROSYN 10% GEL as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Apply NAPROSYN 10% GEL on the area affected for two times daily and lightly massage to complete absorption. It should not be applied on eyes, mucous membranes, wounds and/or skin lesions. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    SIDE EFFECTS OF NAPROSYN 10% GEL

    COMMON

    • mild skin irritation, red rashes (application site)

    UNCOMMON

    • redness of the skin
    • itching and irritation of skin
    • heat or burning sensation
    • contact dermatitis
    • fluid-filled blisters
    • signs of photosensitivity reactions

    RARE

    Stop using NAPROSYN 10% GEL and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • signs of hypersensitivity reactions (facial swelling around the eyes with a mixed pattern of skin rash and respiratory symptoms including cough, breathlessness, runny nose, tearing or upper respiratory tract swelling)

    WARNING & PRECAUTIONS

    PREGNANCY

    NAPROSYN 10% GEL is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women during the third trimester of pregnancy and should be used only if considered necessary for pregnant women or women planning to have a baby. Consult with your doctor before using this medicine.

    BREASTFEEDING

    NAPROSYN 10% GEL should be used only if considered necessary for breastfeeding women as it may harm the child. Talk with your doctor before using this medicine.

    ALLERGY

    Do not use NAPROSYN 10% GEL if you are allergic to Naproxen or any other ingredients of this medicine.

    OTHERS

    How to avoid the side effects of NAPROSYN 10% GEL?

    To avoid possible side effects of [GBNKEYEORD] such as hypersensitivity or photosensitivity reactions, you should avoid exposure to direct sunlight, including solarium, tanning beds or lamps, during the management and two weeks after the management.

    How long can I use NAPROSYN 10% GEL?

    Use NAPROSYN 10% GEL as advised by the doctor but do not use the medicine for more than 7 days. Always remember not to exceed the recommended doses. If your symptoms did not improve after 7 days, consult your doctor immediately.

    Can NAPROSYN 10% GEL be applied on painful areas of body?

    Yes, NAPROSYN 10% GEL relieves pain by applying it on the surface of painful area two times daily and then slightly massage the area to complete absorption. It should not be applied on eyes, mucous membranes, wounds and/or skin lesions.

    Is it safe to use NAPROSYN 10% GEL for children?
