    Introduction About MYOTOP P TABLET

    MYOTOP P TABLET is a combination of Paracetamol and Tolperisone which belongs to the group of medicines called Analgesics and Muscle relaxants respectively. It is used for the management of patients with acute painful musculoskeletal conditions.

    MYOTOP P TABLET is not recommended for use if you have myasthenia gravis. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Before taking MYOTOP P TABLET, inform your doctor if you have peptic ulcer disease, gastrointestinal perforation, bleeding and anemia. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    MYOTOP P TABLET is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women (especially during first three months) and breastfeeding women, unless considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    The most common side effects of taking MYOTOP P TABLET are muscle weakness, headache, low blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

    How MYOTOP P TABLET Works

    MYOTOP P TABLET is a combination of Paracetamol and Tolperisone that works by blocking chemical messengers in the brain, which are responsible for inflammatory signs such as pain, increased temperature. Tolperisone works on the spinal cord and brain to relieve contraction or muscle stiffness without a decrease in strength and increases the blood supply to the muscles. These actions together provide relief from painful muscle spasm and spastic conditions.

    How to use MYOTOP P TABLET

    Take MYOTOP P TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the right dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of MYOTOP P TABLET

    Common

    • muscle weakness
    • headache
    • low blood pressure
    • nausea, vomiting
    • indigestion
    • dry mouth

    Uncommon

    • loss of appetite
    • difficulty in falling asleep and sleep disturbance
    • headache
    • dizziness
    • excessive sleepiness
    • abdominal discomfort
    • pain in the extremities
    • weakness, malaise
    • fatigue

    Rare

    • depression, disturbance of attention and hand tremor
    • convulsion, visual disturbance, tinnitus
    • chest tightness, tachycardia, palpitation, hypotension, flushing, breathing difficulty, bleeding of the nose
    • epigastric pain, constipation, flatulence
    • increased sweating, itching (pruritus), urticaria, rash
    • urinary incontinence and protein in the urine
    • discomfort of the extremities
    • feeling of drunkenness, warmth, thirst and irritability
    • elevated bilirubin levels, abnormal liver enzyme levels, reduction of platelet
    • count and elevation of white blood cell count

    Stop taking MYOTOP P TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • signs of severe allergic reaction (itching, redness of the skin, skin rash, difficulty in breathing, sudden drop of blood pressure and collapse may occur)

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Nausea or Vomiting:

    Take MYOTOP P TABLET with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods. If there is no improvement in symptom, contact your doctor.

    Indigestion:

    Eat smaller and frequent meals. Eat and drink slowly and exercise regularly. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.

    Constipation:

    Eat plenty of fiber rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables and cereals and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.

    Diarrhea:

    Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.

    Stomach Discomfort:

    Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller and frequent meals. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.

    Warning & Precautions

    Pregnancy

    MYOTOP P TABLET is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women (especially during first three months) unless considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Breastfeeding

    MYOTOP P TABLET is generally not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through the breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Driving and Using Machines

    Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizzy, sleepy, disturbance in attention, blurred vision or muscular weakness after taking MYOTOP P TABLET.

    Kidney

    MYOTOP P TABLET should be used with caution in patients having severe kidney problems. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Liver

    MYOTOP P TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver problems. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Allergy

    Do not take MYOTOP P TABLET if you are allergic to Paracetamol, Tolperisone or to any other ingredients of this medicine.

    Others

    MYOTOP P TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

    • have myasthenia gravis

    Before taking MYOTOP P TABLET, inform your doctor if you:

    • have peptic ulcer disease, gastrointestinal perforation and bleeding
    • have anemia

    Use in Pediatrics:

    There are no studies evaluating the efficacy of MYOTOP P TABLET in children. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Use in Geriatrics:

    MYOTOP P TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Interactions

    A. Drug - Drug interactions:

    Before taking MYOTOP P TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • medicines used to relieve muscle spasm (Ex. baclofen, chlorzoxazone, guaifenesin, metaxalone and methocarbamol)
    • medicines used to relieve pain (Ex. ibuprofen, niflumic acid, diclofenac and celecoxib)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of MYOTOP P TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
