Introduction About MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY
MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY contains Xylometazoline which belongs to the group of medicines called Nasal decongestants. It is used in children (aged between 1-11 years) to provide relief from nasal congestion caused due to common cold, sinusitis (inflammation of the sinuses) or allergic rhinitis (an allergic condition).
Always use MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY as directed by your physician. It is for intranasal use only. Do not use MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY for more than 10 days to your child without consulting your doctor.
Before using MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY inform your doctor if your child has heart problems or thyroid problems. You must also inform your doctor if your child has any other problems in the nasal tract apart from nasal congestion such as nasal inflammation, nasal dryness or any recent surgery in the nose.
MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY should not be used in adults unless recommended by a doctor. The most common side effects of using MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY are irritation or burning sensation after application and nasal dryness. Consult your doctor if they bother your child.
Uses Of MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY
It is used in children (aged between 1-11 years) to provide relief from:
- Nasal congestion (blocked nose)
How MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY Works
MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY opens and clears the nasal passages. It works by narrowing down the blood vessels supplying the nasal passage. This helps swollen blood vessels of the nasal tract to return to its normal size which allows the air to pass through the nostrils more freely. It also reduces excessive nasal secretions and provides temporary relief from nasal inflammation, swelling and discomfort.
How to use MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY
Always use MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY as directed by your physician. It is for intranasal use only.
For Nasal Drops: Gently instill few drops of this medicine into each nostril. Clean the dropper after application.
For Nasal Spray: Insert the spray nozzle inside the affected nostril. Press the pump to release the spray and sniff at the same time. Repeat the same to the other nostril if required. Clean the nozzle after application.
To avoid possible spread of infection, this pack should only be used by a single person. Do not use MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY for more than 10 days without consulting your doctor. Discard the unused portion after 28 days of opening it.

Rare
Stop using MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY and contact your doctor immediately if your child experiences any of the following side effects:
- severe allergic reactions (such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and/or throat which can lead to difficulty in breathing or swallowing)
- restlessness, hallucination and problems in sleeping
How To Manage Side Effects
Headache:
Apply pain-relieving balm on your child’s forehead. Consult your doctor if headache worsens.
Nausea:
Provide simple meals to your child. Make sure that they do not eat oil rich or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if nausea worsens.

MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY is intended for use only in the children. Therefore, it should not be used in adults unless recommended by a doctor.
Breastfeeding
MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY is intended for use only in the children. Therefore, it should not be used in adults unless recommended by a doctor.
Driving and Using Machines
MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY does not affect your child’s ability to drive or operate any heavy tools.
Allergy
Do not use MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY if your child is allergic to Xylometazoline or to any other ingredients of this medicine.
Heart Disease
MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY should be used with caution in children with heart disease (such as hypertension, prolonged QT syndrome). Therefore, consult your doctor before administration.
Others
MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY is not recommended for use if your child:
- has any inflammation in the nasal passages
- recently had a neurosurgery or surgery in their nose
- has closed angle glaucoma (increased pressure within the eyes)
- has chronic nasal inflammation and nasal dryness (such as rhinitis sicca or atrophic rhinitis)
- has phaeochromocytoma (a rare tumor of the adrenal glands)
Before using MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY inform your doctor if your child has:
- diabetes
- hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid gland)
- an enlarged prostate gland
Use in pediatrics:
MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY can be used in children and adolescents aged between 1-11 years. It is not recommended for use in infants aged below 1 year. Therefore, consult your doctor for advice before administration.
Use in geriatrics:
MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY is intended for use only in the children. Therefore, it should not be used in adults unless recommended by a doctor.
Interactions
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before using MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY, inform your doctor if your child is taking any of the following medicines:
- antidepressants (used to manage depression) such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (Ex. moclobemide, isocarboxazid, phenelzine and tranylcypromine), tricyclic antidepressants (Ex. amitriptyline, nortriptyline), lithium, fluoxetine, sertraline, citalopram, escitalopram etc
- medicines used to control blood pressure such as alpha blockers (Ex. prazosin, terazocin) or beta blockers (Ex. propranolol, atenolol)
- timolol, betaxolol (used to manage glaucoma in the eye)
- appetite suppressants (used for suppressing hunger) Ex. phentermine
- oxytocin (a medicine used during childbirth)
- ergot alkaloids (used for migraine headache) Ex. ergotamine
Overdosage:
If your child accidentally swallowed the medicine or applied too much of MUCORIS PEAD NASAL SPRAY, consult your doctor immediately. Symptoms of overdosage might include severe dizziness, increased sweating, severely lowered body temperature, headache, slow heart rate, hypertension or difficulty in breathing.
