    Introduction About MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION

    MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION is a combination of Chlorhexidine, Sodium fluoride and Zinc chloride which belongs to the group of medicines called Disinfectants and Topical Anti-infective agents respectively. It is used to manage gingivitis. It also maintains oral hygiene, inhibits formation of dental plague, manages recurrent oral ulceration, manages denture stomatitis and thrush.

    Gingivitis is an inflammatory gum disease caused by bacteria which causes irritation, redness and swelling of the gums. Oral mucositis is a swelling of the tissues in the mouth. Before using MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION inform your doctor if you have any kidney, liver, heart or lung disease. MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION should not be used in children and adolescents below 12 years of age unless prescribed by the doctor.

    MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION is safe to use in pregnant and breast-feeding women, however, consult with your doctor before using. The most common side effects of using MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION are tongue discoloration, irritation or burning sensation in the mouth, reversible brown staining of the teeth. Consult your doctor’s advice if any of these worsen or doesn’t improve.

    It is used to:

    • manage gingivitis
    • maintain oral hygiene
    • inhibits formation of dental plague
    • manage recurrent oral ulceration
    • manage denture stomatitis and thrush

    How MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION Works

    MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION helps in managing gingivitis and maintaining oral hygiene where Chlorhexidine is an antimicrobial agent which manages the formation of plaque by acting on the microbes present on the tooth surface and destroying them. Sodium fluoride is a cariostatic agent which destroys bacteria that cause dental caries and remineralises the teeth. Zinc chloride acts on the odour causing bacteria in the moth and stops the release of gas (H2S) which causes bad breath.

    How to use MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION

    Use MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION as directed by your doctor. It is for external use only, do not swallow. Shake well before use. Swish MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION in the mouth for one minute. Do not wash mouth, eat or drink for 20 minutes after using it. Your doctor will prescribe you the correct dose and duration of MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION depending on your age, weight and health condition.

    Side Effects Of MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION

    Common

    • tongue discoloration
    • irritation, burning sensation in the mouth
    • reversible brown staining of the teeth
    • change in taste

    Rare

    Stop using MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION and inform your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • severe allergic reaction (rash, swelling of tongue, throat, lips or face, difficulty in breathing)
    • soreness, irritation of the mouth
    • swelling of the inside of the cheeks

    Interactions

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before using MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION, inform your doctor if you are taking, have taken, or might take any other medicine, including prescription, non-prescription or any herbal medicine.

    B. Drug-Food Interactions:

    After using the MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION avoid drinking tea, coffee for at least 1 hour. Its use can cause teeth stains.

    Overdosage:

    In case of accidental ingestion of MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.

    A: MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION can cause temporary staining of teeth. This can be avoided by not drinking coffee, tea especially one hour after using MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION. Staining can easily be removed by brushing daily using a toothpaste. Consult your doctor if it persists for a long time.

    Q: Does MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION reduce bad breath?

    A: Yes MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION reduces bad breath effectively, but only in the short term (about 3 hours). However, before beginning the usage, keep the risk of teeth staining and taste alteration in mind.

    Q: Can MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION be used just after brushing teeth?

    A: Toothpastes contain sodium lauryl sulphate which may alter the function of MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION. Rinse your moth thoroughly and wait for 5 minutes to use MOUTH RINZ SOLUTION after brushing. You may use it at some other time of the day as well.
