Introduction About MIGNAR 50MG TABLET
MIGNAR 50MG TABLET contains Miglitol that belongs to the group of medicines called Oral Alpha-Glucosidase Inhibitors. It is used in adults to improve glycaemic control with type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a long-standing metabolic disorder in which there is impairment of body cells to uptake and utilize glucose, resulting in excessive glucose in blood. It is characterized by the symptoms such as increased thirst, increased frequency of urination, increased hunger, weakness, weight loss, and blurred vision.
Miglitol works by reversibly inhibiting of membrane-bound enzymes that play a vital role in the breakdown of sugar (oligosaccharides and disaccharides) into glucose (monosaccharides), thereby delaying glucose absorption and lowering the blood glucose levels.
MIGNAR 50MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you have diabetic ketoacidosis, inflammatory bowel disease (including colonic ulceration, partial intestinal obstruction), chronic intestinal diseases associated with digestive or absorptive disorders, predisposition to intestinal obstruction, or chronic intestinal diseases that may deteriorate due increased gas formation in the intestine. MIGNAR 50MG TABLET is also not recommended for use in pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and children. It should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years).Consult your doctor before taking.
