How MERO SB 1.5GM INJECTION Works

MERO SB 1.5GM INJECTION contains two medicines namely meropenem and sulbactam. Meropenem is a powerful antibiotic. It kills the susceptible bacteria by interfering with the bacterial cell wall synthesis. It is effective against a wide range of bacteria (including both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria).

Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It sustains the anti-bacterial activity of meropenem against the toxic bacterial proteins (such as beta lactamases). Collectively, these actions destroy the susceptible bacteria, manage their further growth and multiplication which in turn reduces the severity of the infection.

MERO SB 1.5GM INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into the vein (intravenously).
