    Introduction About MENABOL TABLET

    MENABOL TABLET contains Stanozolol which belongs to the group of medicines called Anabolic steroids. MENABOL TABLET is used to manage hereditary angioedema, which is a condition that occurs by recurrent episodes of severe swelling involving face, limbs, intestinal tract, and airways in affected individuals.

    MENABOL TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Stanozolol. It is also not recommended for use in patients with breast cancer, prostate cancer, hypercalcemia (high calcium level in blood), and/or nephrotic syndrome (kidney disorder).

    Before taking MENABOL TABLET, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, heart problems (such as congestive heart disease), kidney, and/or liver disease.

    MENABOL TABLET is not recommended for use during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy since the medicine may cause harm to the fetus. It should be used with caution in breastfeeding women only if it is clearly necessary since it is not known whether the medicine may pass through breast milk.

    MENABOL TABLET should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) only if it is clearly necessary since the safety and efficacy of medicine is not known.  It is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients after consulting the doctor.

    The most common side effects of taking MENABOL TABLET are hirsutism (excessive hair growth), menstrual irregularities, and/or hepatic dysfunction (associated with symptoms such as yellowing of skin and whites of eyes (jaundice), stomach pain, and/or nausea/vomiting). Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.

    How MENABOL TABLET Works

    MENABOL TABLET works by inhibiting the action of bradykinin (chemical responsible for causing swelling beneath the skin due to sudden accumulation of fluid followed by an injury to the blood vessel) which results in management of swelling in arms/legs thus managing hereditary angioedema in affected individuals.

    How to use MENABOL TABLET

    Take MENABOL TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the right dose and duration depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of MENABOL TABLET

    Common

    • hirsutism (excessive hair growth)
    • menstrual irregularities
    • signs of hepatic dysfunction such as yellowing of skin and whites of eyes (jaundice), stomach pain, nausea/vomiting, and/or swelling in arms/legs

    Rare

    Stop taking MENABOL TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • signs of cholestatic hepatitis (drug induced liver injury) with jaundice (yellowing skin/whites of eyes) such as nausea, fatigue, itching, and/or dark urine
    • signs of hypercalcemia (high calcium level in blood) especially in breast cancer patients such as stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, and/or constipation
    • signs of peliosis hepatis (rare vascular condition of the liver) such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea

    Breastfeeding

    MENABOL TABLET should be used with caution in breastfeeding women only if it is clearly necessary since it is not known whether the medicine may pass through breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Kidney

    MENABOL TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking MENABOL TABLET.

    Liver

    MENABOL TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking MENABOL TABLET.

    Allergy

    Do not take MENABOL TABLET if you are allergic to Stanozolol, and/or any other ingredients of this medicine.

    Heart Disease

    MENABOL TABLET should be used with caution in patients with heart problems such as congestive heart disease. Consult your doctor before taking MENABOL TABLET.

    Others

    MENABOL TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

    • are a male and suffer from carcinoma of breast (cancer in breast tissue)
    • are known/suspected of prostate cancer
    • suffer from breast cancer
    • suffer from hypercalcemia (high calcium level in blood)
    • suffer from nephrotic syndrome (kidney disorder)

    Before taking MENABOL TABLET, inform your doctor if you:

    • have diabetes

    Interactions

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before taking MENABOL TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • antidiabetics (medicines used to manage diabetes) Ex. insulin, oral hypoglycemics (metformin, glipizide)
    • anticoagulants (used to manage blood clots) Ex. warfarin

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of MENABOL TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital to manage overdose symptoms.
