Introduction About MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM
MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM contains Allantoin, Tretinoin, Hydroquinone which belongs to the group of medicines called skin protectants, retinoids, demelanizing agents respectively. It is used in adults for the management of melasma (hyperpigmentation (excess melanin production) disorder with symptoms of symmetrical brown patches on sun exposed areas mainly on the face).
It is advised to reduce sun exposure during management with MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM for better results. It is recommended to apply sunscreens and wear fully covering clothes while going out. Avoid smoking, exposing to open fire as MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM contains ingredients that may flame and cause severe burns.
It is not advised to use MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM if you have eczema, redness on the cheeks, nose, chin, or forehead (acne rosacea), sunburn or skin irritation with redness, sensitivity to sunlight, peeling or itching, irritation of skin around mouth, using any skin peeling agents, and allergic to any of the ingredients.
MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM should be used with caution in patients with a personal or family history of skin cancer, inflammatory skin disorders along with acne (pimples), photo allergy, fair complexion, or sensitive skin. MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM is not recommended to use in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
It is not recommended for use in elderly patients above 65 years of age and children below 18 years of age. Most common side effects of MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM are skin dryness, itching, peeling, burning with pain, redness, and numbness. Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms are worsening.

How MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM Works
MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM contains allantoin, hydroquinone, tretinoin. Hydroquinone is a skin bleaching agent that blocks enzyme tyrosinase which is responsible for the production of melanin that causes pigmentation. Thus, it helps in fading of dark spots in skin. Tretinoin helps to recover the damage to the skin caused by sun exposure (photodamage) by thickening skin layer and loss of keratinized cells. Allantoin also has keratolytic action that helps to remove excess keratinized skin layer and a moisturizing effect that helps to get rid of irritations caused by tretinoin.
How to use MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM
Apply MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM as advised by your physician. It is for external use only. Wash your hands before applying MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM. Wash your face with a mild soap and dry properly. Apply MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM as a thin layer on the affected area.
For better results do not apply any other fairness products for 1 hour after applying MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM. It’s advised to use moisturizer on your face at least everyday morning to avoid dryness caused by medicine. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, mouth, mucous membrane.
Reduce exposure to sunlight while using MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM

Rare
Stop using MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- rash, itchy skin, swelling of the lips, eyes, tongue, or difficulty in breathing may be signs of an allergic reaction
- blistering of skin
- feeling of bump or swelling in skin
- swelling or irritation in one eye or both eyes
- severe reddening of skin and peeling at the site of application
- increased sensitivity to sunlight
How To Manage Side Effects

Dry Skin
Drink plenty of water, milk, honey and stay hydrated. Apply sunflower oil, coconut oil ,aloe vera or petroleum jelly to moisturize skin. Take an oatmeal bath. Contact the doctor if it doesn't improve.

Skin Sensitivity
Apply cool compress or wet cloth over the burned area. Apply moisturizers if required. Contact the doctor if it is not subsiding.

Pregnancy
ContraindicatedMELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM is not recommended to use if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant as it may affect the unborn baby. Consult your doctor before using MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM.

Breastfeeding
ContraindicatedMELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through the breast milk. Consult your doctor before using MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM to decide whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue the medicine considering the benefit of breastfeeding to the child and the benefit of the MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM to the mother.

Allergy
ContraindicatedDo not use MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM if you are allergic to allantoin, hydroquinone, tretinoin or any other constituents of this medicine. Consult your doctor before using MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM.
Others
MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM is not recommended to use if you have:
- redness on the cheeks, nose, chin, or forehead (acne rosacea)
- sensitivity to sunlight
- peeling or itching , irritation of skin around mouth
- using any skin peeling agents
- inherited sensitivity to sunlight
- sunburns
- eczema or other chronic skin conditions of the face
- hypersensitivity to retinoids
Before using MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM inform your doctor if you have:

Use in Paediatrics:
MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM is not recommended to use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Consult your doctor before using MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM.
Use in Geriatrics:
MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM is not recommended in elderly people above 65 years of age as safety data has not been established yet. Consult your doctor before using MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM.
Interactions
A. Drug – Drug interactions:
Before using MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM inform your doctor if you are taking any of following medicines:
- medicines used to manage blood pressure (Ex. thiazides such as chlorthalidone, indapamide)
- medicines used to manage infections (Ex. tetracyclines, ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin, sulfadiazine etc)
- medicines used to manage emotional problems (Ex. phenothiazines like chlorpromazine, promazine etc)
- medicines used to manage skin infections (Ex. ketoconazole, fluconazole)
- medicine used to manage pimples (Ex. benzoyl peroxide)
- medicated soaps (Ex. triclosan, trichlor carbamide etc)
- permanent wave solutions (Ex. Thioglycolic acid)
- cleansers, shampoos, or cosmetics with a strong drying effect (sulphate, resorcinol, salicylic acid containing products)
- products with alcohol, spices, astringents, or lime
- chemical hair removers or waxes
- products that irritate skin (detergents, nail polish etc)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally apply to much of MELAPIK EVERNEW CREAM, consult your doctor immediately. Symptoms include marked redness, peeling, or discomfort.
