Introduction About MEGATRUM P OINTMENT
Megatrum P Ointment is an Anti-septic ointment that is used as first aid to manage infection in minor cuts, scrapes, minor burns, abrasions, etc. It contains Povidone Iodine as an active ingredient which is a broad-spectrum antiseptic. It can be used for pre and post-operative skin disinfection while performing wound dressings and during the management of decubitus ulcers (pressure sores).
Povidone Iodine is a broad-spectrum antiseptic that penetrates the microbe and oxidizes proteins, nucleotides and fatty acids which causes the death of the microbe. It is effective against a wide range of infection-causing microbes such as bacteria, fungi, protozoa and viruses.
Megatrum P ointment is for external use only. Clean the affected area and then apply this ointment on the affected area 1-3 times a day or as directed by your doctor. You can also cover the affected area with a sterile bandage after applying the ointment. Consult your doctor before applying Megatrum P ointment to deep or puncture wounds, serious burns and animal bites. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding before applying Megatrum P ointment.
