    Introduction About MAXIDERM RF CREAM

    MAXIDERM RF CREAM is a combination of Beclomethasone dipropionate, Clotrimazole, and Gentamicin which belongs to the group of medicines called Corticosteroids, Imidazoles, and Aminoglycoside antibiotics, respectively. MAXIDERM RF CREAM is used to manage contact dermatitis (itchy rash), atopic dermatitis, eczematous dermatitis, napkin rash (diaper rash), dermatophytosis (fungal infection of skin or scalp), intertrigo (type of inflammatory skin reaction), and onychomycosis (nail fungus) in affected individuals.

    MAXIDERM RF CREAM is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Beclomethasone, Clotrimazole, and/or Gentamicin. It is also not recommended for use in patients with skin problems such as acne, rosacea (severe flushing of skin), perioral dermatitis (spotty red rash around mouth), viral & fungal infections, and/or varicose ulcers caused by swollen veins.

    Before applying MAXIDERM RF CREAM, inform your doctor if you are a smoker, and/or have psoriasis (itchy skin) or allergic reaction to any substance.

    MAXIDERM RF CREAM should be used with caution during pregnancy and in breastfeeding women only if it is necessary. It is not recommended for use in children (aged below 1 year) and should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged 2 to 18 years). The medicine is also advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above) after consulting the doctor.

    The most common symptoms of applying MAXIDERM RF CREAM are irritation, burning or stinging sensation, itchy rash, red,itchy skin, and blistering at the site of application. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms gets worse.

    Uses Of MAXIDERM RF CREAM

    It is used to manage the following conditions:

    • contact dermatitis (itchy rash due to allergic reaction)
    • atopic dermatitis (red,itchy skin)
    • eczematous dermatitis (dry, red, itchy skin)
    • napkin rash (diaper rash)
    • dermatophytosis (fungal infection of skin or scalp)
    • intertrigo (type of inflammatory skin reaction)
    • onychomycosis (nail fungus)

    How MAXIDERM RF CREAM Works

    MAXIDERM RF CREAM helps to manage allergic and fungal skin infections, where Beclomethasone dipropionate works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that makes the skin red, swollen and itchy, Clotrimazole works by causing destruction to fungi by managing it to form their own protective, and Gentamicin causes destruction and manages bacterial growth by inhibiting their protein synthesis resulting in bacteriostatic effect.

    How to use MAXIDERM RF CREAM

    Always apply MAXIDERM RF CREAM,  as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. On the affected area, apply a thin layer of this medicine. Managed areas on the face need not be covered with a plaster or bandage. Do not apply MAXIDERM RF CREAM on your face beyond 5 days. Avoid applying MAXIDERM RF CREAM  around your eyes, including eyelids.

    Side Effects Of MAXIDERM RF CREAM

    Common

    • irritation
    • burning or stinging sensation
    • itchy rash
    • red,itchy skin
    • blistering at the site of application

    Rare

    Stop applying  MAXIDERM RF CREAM and contact your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • signs of allergic reaction such as itching, rash, blisters, burning/pricking/tickling sensation, discomfort, swelling of the lips, face, throat or tongue irritation, redness or peeling of skin, swallowing or breathing problems, weakness, feeling dizzy or faint, and or nausea
    • if irritation, sensitization or superinfection develops due to overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms such as  fungi

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Itchy Skin:

    Avoid scratching your skin. Cool your skin by holding onto a damp towel. Try to have cool or warm baths. Wear loose clothing and do not wear tight clothes. Try to avoid using perfumed soaps, deodorants or moisturizers and always use unperfumed moisturizer.

    MAXIDERM RF CREAM should be used with caution during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy. Consult your doctor before applying MAXIDERM RF CREAM.

    Breastfeeding

    MAXIDERM RF CREAM should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before applying MAXIDERM RF CREAM.

    Driving and Using Machines

    MAXIDERM RF CREAM is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or operate machines. Consult your doctor before applying  MAXIDERM RF CREAM.

    Allergy

    MAXIDERM RF CREAM is not recommended for use if you are allergic to Beclomethasone, Clotrimazole, Gentamicin or any other ingredients of this medicine.

    Others

    MAXIDERM RF CREAM is not recommended for use if you:

    • have skin problems such as acne (pimples), rosacea (severe flushing of skin on and around your nose), perioral dermatitis (spotty red rash around your mouth)
    • itching around your back passage or private parts
    • viral infections such as cold sores, herpes or chickenpox
    • fungal infections, such as ringworm infection, athlete’s foot or thrush
    • skin blisters or sores that are caused by an infection
    • varicose ulcers caused by swollen veins
    • stasis ulcers caused by reduced blood or body fluid flow

    Before applying  MAXIDERM RF CREAM, inform your doctor if you:

    • medicine planned to be applied under an airtight dressing such as child's nappy.
    • have  psoriasis (itchy skin)
    • smoke
    • suffered or have allergic reaction to any substance

    Use in Pediatrics:

    MAXIDERM RF CREAM is not recommended for use in children (below 1 year). It should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged 2 to 18 years). Consult your doctor before applying MAXIDERM RF CREAM.

    Use in Geriatrics:

    MAXIDERM RF CREAM should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years or above). Consult your doctor before applying MAXIDERM RF CREAM.

    Interactions

    A. Drug-Drug Interactions:

    Inform your doctor about all the medicines you use including prescription, non-prescription, and/or herbal medicines before using this medicine.

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally applys too much MAXIDERM RF CREAM, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
