    Introduction About LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS

    LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS is used for the short term relief of signs and symptoms (itching and redness in the eye) of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis due to pollens. It contains Loteprednol which belongs to the group of medicines called Corticosteroids.

    LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS is not recommended for use if you have any eye diseases caused by viruses (such as herpes simplex, vaccinia, and varicella), or caused by bacteria or a fungus, have glaucoma or any other eye infection. LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS is not recommend for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor for advice. LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS is not suitable for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age.

    After instilling LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS you must wait at least 10 to 15 minutes before inserting your contact lenses. Do not wear a contact lens if your eye is red. The most common side effects associated with use of LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS are increased pressure within the eye, blurred or abnormal vision. Consult your doctor if any of the above side effects bothers you.

    LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS contains Loteprednol which acts by reducing inflammation and eases the symptoms (itching and redness) of allergic conjunctivitis due to pollens.

    How to use LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS

    Use LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS as advised by your doctor. It is for ophthalmic use only. Shake well before use. Apply one drop of LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS into the gap between your eyeball and eyelid, four times a day or as directed. You will only use LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS for a short period of time, usually not more than two weeks, unless specifically instructed by your doctor. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and time interval for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of the condition.

    Side Effects Of LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS

    Common

    • increased pressure within the eye
    • blurred or abnormal vision
    • floaters in the eye
    • burning when putting drops in the eye or at any time while on the medication
    • swelling or discharge from the eyes
    • painful, dry or sticky eyes
    • tearing
    • sensation of having an object in your eye
    • itching in the eye or on the eyelid
    • redness in the eye or on the eyelid
    • photophobia (discomfort on exposure to light)

    Allergy

    Do not use if you are allergic to Loteprednol or any other ingredients of this medicine.  

    Use In Pediatrics

    LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Consult your child’s doctor for advice.

    Others

    LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS is not recommended for use if you:

    • have eye diseases caused by viruses (such as herpes simplex, vaccinia, and varicella), or caused by bacteria or a fungus
    • have any other eye infection
    • have or had glaucoma or increased pressure in the eye

    Before using LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS, inform your doctor if you:

    • have glaucoma (progressive condition causing damage to the optic nerve of the eyes due to increased pressure inside the eyes leading to blindness)
    • have history of viral eye infection caused by herpes simplex
    • diseases causing thinning of the cornea or sclera

    Interactions

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before using LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS, inform your doctor if you are taking or using, have taken, or might take any other medicine including prescription, non-prescription or any herbal medicines.

    Overdosage:

    If you use more LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS than you should, or there is accidental oral ingestion, you should immediately contact your doctor.

    A: Yes, long-term exposure of LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS may lead to posterior and subcapsular cataract formation (type of eye disease causing opacification or clouding of back portion of the lens). Consult your doctor immediately if you feel any visual disturbance while you are using this medicine.

    Q: Can I wear contact lenses while using LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS?

    A: No. LOTECHEK LS EYE DROPS contains a preservative called benzalkonium chloride which may be absorbed by soft contact lenses. You are recommended to remove contact lenses before using this medicine and you can put them back after 15 minutes of using the medicine.
