Introduction About LORSICA 10 TABLET
LORSICA 10 TABLET contains Loratadine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihistamines. It is used to manage allergic rhinitis (an allergic response triggered by breathing in any particles like dust mites, pollen characterized by symptoms such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose and burning or itchy eyes). It is also used to manage urticaria (red and itchy skin rashes triggered by allergic reactions to food or any other irritants).
LORSICA 10 TABLET should be used with caution in patient having kidney and liver problems. Consult your doctor for advice.
It is not recommended for use if you are pregnant women or breastfeeding mother. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
This medicine is not recommended for children below 6 years of age. Your doctor will prescribe the right dose depends on your child’s age, body weight and disease condition.
LORSICA 10 TABLET should be used with caution in patients above 65 years of age. The most common side effects of taking LORSICA 10 TABLET are drowsiness, headache, increased appetite, difficulty in sleeping. Consult your doctor if the above side effects bothers you.
Uses Of LORSICA 10 TABLET
It is used to relieve from symptoms associated with:
- Allergic rhinitis (Ex. hay fever) including sneezing, runny or itchy nose and burning or itchy eyes
- Urticaria (hives or nettle rash)
How LORSICA 10 TABLET Works
LORSICA 10 TABLET reduces the allergic reaction by blocking the effects of histamine (a chemical substance produced by the body in response to some allergens like dust or pollen).
How to use LORSICA 10 TABLET
Take LORSICA 10 TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow this medicine, do not crush or chew the medicine. Correct dosage and duration will be decided by your doctor depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of LORSICA 10 TABLET
Common
- drowsiness

- increased appetite
- difficulty in sleeping
- headache, nervousness and tiredness (in children)
How To Manage Side Effects
Drowsiness:
When you feel drowsy, lie or sit down immediately. if you are experiencing a severe episode of vertigo, lie in a dark and quite place with eyes closed. Vehicle driving should be avoided if you experience frequent drowsiness without warning. Talk to your doctor if the symptom worsens.
Headache:
Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Try to take rest in a quiet and dark environment. Drink tea or coffee. Massage with mild pressure on scalp or head. Consult your doctor for advice.
Dry mouth:
Dry mouth can be managed by chewing sugar-free gum or sucking on sugar-free hard candies to stimulate the flow of saliva. Sip water at regular intervals of time. Do not use mouthwashes that contain alcohol because they can be drying.

LORSICA 10 TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Consult your doctor for advice before taking the medicine.
Breastfeeding
LORSICA 10 TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through the breastmilk to the baby. Consult your doctor for advice before taking LORSICA 10 TABLET.
Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel drowsy after taking LORSICA 10 TABLET. Consult your doctor before taking LORSICA 10 TABLET.
Kidney
LORSICA 10 TABLET should be used with caution in patients having kidney problems. Consult your doctor before taking LORSICA 10 TABLET.
Liver
LORSICA 10 TABLET should be used with caution in patients having liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking LORSICA 10 TABLET.
Allergy
Do not take LORSICA 10 TABLET if you are allergic to Loratadine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Others
Before taking LORSICA 10 TABLET, inform your doctor if you:
- have to undergo any skin tests for allergies
- have intolerance to some sugars like lactose

Interactions
A. Drug - Drug interactions:
Before taking LORSICA 10 TABLET inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- erythromycin (medicine used to manage infections)
- ketoconazole (medicine used to manage fungal infections)
- cimetidine (medicine used to manage stomach ulcer)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of LORSICA 10 TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are headache, fast heart rate, feeling sleepy.
