Introduction About LOMELA CREAM

Lomela Cream contains hydroquinone (a skin-lightening agent), mometasone furoate (a topical corticosteroid), and tretinoin (a vitamin A derivative). It is prescribed for the short-term management of melasma (dark patches on the skin) and certain forms of hyperpigmentation, where reducing excess pigmentation, controlling inflammation, and promoting skin cell turnover are beneficial. Hydroquinone helps reduce the production of melanin, mometasone helps reduce redness and inflammation, and tretinoin promotes the shedding of pigmented skin cells and enhances the penetration of hydroquinone. This cream should only be used for the condition and duration prescribed by your doctor and should not be used for prolonged periods or on unaffected skin without medical advice.

Use Lomela Cream exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Clean and dry the affected area before application. Apply a thin layer only to the affected skin, preferably at night, and gently rub it in until absorbed. Wash your hands before and after applying the cream unless your hands are the area being treated. Avoid contact with the eyes, lips, inside the nose, and other mucous membranes. Do not apply it to broken, irritated, sunburned, or infected skin. Avoid covering the treated area with airtight dressings unless advised by your doctor. During treatment, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen and protective clothing, as tretinoin and hydroquinone may increase sensitivity to sunlight. Continue using the cream for the prescribed duration and do not stop or extend treatment without medical advice.

Do not use Lomela Cream if you are allergic to hydroquinone, mometasone, tretinoin, or any of its ingredients. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, thinning of the skin, liver disease, diabetes, or any active skin infection. Also tell your doctor if you have a history of sensitivity to sunlight or are using other topical medicines, corticosteroid creams, exfoliating agents, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or medicated skin preparations on the same area, as these may increase skin irritation.

Common side effects of Lomela Cream may include mild burning, stinging, redness, dryness, peeling, itching, irritation, or a temporary sensation of warmth at the application site. Increased sensitivity to sunlight may also occur. Prolonged or excessive use may increase the risk of skin thinning, stretch marks, acne-like eruptions, changes in skin colour, visible blood vessels, or, rarely, ochronosis (bluish-black skin discoloration associated with long-term hydroquinone use). Seek immediate medical attention if you develop severe skin irritation, blistering, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing, or signs of a severe allergic reaction. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding before using this cream. Children and older adults should use this medicine only under medical supervision, as they may be more susceptible to corticosteroid-related side effects.
