    Introduction About LIVRITE TABLET

    LIVRITE TABLET is a combination of Acetylcysteine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Selenomethionine and Silymarin which belongs to the group of medicines called Amino acids, Antioxidant, Amino acids, Flavonolignans respectively. It is used to manage jaundice (yellowish discolouration of skin or whites of the eye), alcoholic liver disorder, and viral hepatitis (infection of the liver causing inflammation or liver damage due to hepatitis A, B, C, D, E viruses).

    It also manages alcoholic hepatitis (inflammation of the liver due to excessive alcohol consumption), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (build-up of fat in the liver due to obesity) and to minimize the hepatotoxic effects of anti-TB chemotherapy.

    Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking this medicine. LIVRITE TABLET is not recommended in patients with biliary obstruction. LIVRITE TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver and kidney disease or on dialysis, high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, stomach ulcer, bleeding problems, undergoing any surgeries, diabetes, thyroid problems, anaemia, cancer, vitamin-B1 (thiamine deficiency).

    LIVRITE TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women unless it is considered clearly necessary. The most common side effects of taking LIVRITE TABLET are nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, fever, or skin rashes. Consult your physician if you experience any side effects.

    Uses Of LIVRITE TABLET

    It is used to manage:

    • jaundice
    • alcoholic liver disorder
    • viral hepatitis, alcoholic hepatitis
    • non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
    • minimize the hepatotoxic effects of anti-TB chemotherapy

    How LIVRITE TABLET Works

    LIVRITE TABLET helps to manage liver damage, where Acetylcysteine, alpha lipoic acids and silymarin acts as an antioxidant and helps to neutralise the free radicals (responsible for liver damage) and selenomethionine acts by stabilizing liver cell membranes, thereby reducing their entry to certain toxic substances. Together they manage liver disease effectively.

    How to use LIVRITE TABLET

    Take LIVRITE TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Depending on your age, body weight, disease condition, your doctor will fix the correct dose and duration for you.

    Side Effects Of LIVRITE TABLET

    Common

    • anaphylactoid reactions (such as urticaria, flushing (facial flushing), rash, itching)
    • nausea, vomiting, stomach pain
    • fever

    Rare

    Stop taking LIVRITE TABLET and contact your physician immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • serious allergic reaction (angioedema) such as skin rash, hives, itching, fever, swelling of the face, tongue, and throat causing difficulty in breathing, chest tightness, wheezing, severe cough, blue colour skin, seizure, low blood pressure, fast heartbeat, or shock
    • symptoms of low blood sugar such as headache, hunger, dizziness, tremor, rapid heartbeat, confusion, irritability, nervousness, or sweating

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Nausea And Vomiting

    Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy food. If the nausea and vomiting does not improve, consult your doctor.

    Skin rash Or Itching

    Avoid hot showers because hot water can irritate the skin. Do not scratch the affected area. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors. Contact your doctor if symptoms worsens.

    Stomach Pain

    Try to rest and relax. Eat small meals but take them frequently. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. Contact your doctor if the stomach pain did not improve.

    Allergy

    Do not take LIVRITE TABLET if you are allergic to Acetylcysteine or Alpha Lipoic Acid or Selenomethionine or Silymarin or to other ingredients of this medicine.

    Lungs

    LIVRITE TABLET should be used with caution in asthmatic patients. Contact your doctor before taking LIVRITE TABLET.

    Heart Disease

    Use with Caution

    LIVRITE TABLET should be used with caution in patients with high blood pressure, or congestive heart failure. Contact your doctor before taking LIVRITE TABLET.

    Others

    Before taking LIVRITE TABLET, inform your doctor if you have:

    • stomach ulcer
    • bleeding problems
    • any surgeries
    • diabetes
    • thyroid problems
    • anaemia
    • cancer
    • vitamin-B1 (thiamine deficiency
    • are on a low salt diet

    Interactions

    A. Drug - Drug interactions:

    Before taking LIVRITE TABLET inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:

    • nitroglycerin (medicine used to manage angina)
    • activated charcoal (used to manage poisoning)
    • chloroquine (medicine used to manage malaria)
    • medications used for antihypertensive drugs (high blood pressure) such as captopril, enalapril, lisinopril, ramipril, losartan, valsartan, diltiazem, amlodipine, hydrochlorothiazide, furosemide etc.
    • medications used to manage blood clotting (anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs) such as aspirin, clopidogrel, dalteparin, enoxaparin, heparin, warfarin, etc. 
    • diclofenac, ibuprofen, naproxen (medicines used to reduce pain)
    • medicines such as insulin or oral diabetes (used to manage diabetes)
    • levothyroxine (medicine to manage underactive thyroid)
    • medicines used to manage cancer (Ex. busulfan)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of LIVRITE TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
