INTRODUCTION ABOUT LIVOLUK KID SYRUP
Livoluk Kid Syrup is a laxative used to manage constipation in children. It is also used for hepatic encephalopathy (liver disease causing confusion, decreased level of consciousness, tremor or shaking movements of the body). It contains lactulose as active ingredient which helps to increase bowel movements.
Lactulose is a synthetic (man-made) sugar. In the large intestine, it breaks down and draws water into it. Thus, it softens the stool, which helps to ease constipation. In patients with hepatic encephalopathy, it reduces the amount of ammonia in the bloodstream thereby facilitating toxins removal from the body which helps to improve cognitive functions.

Your doctor will decide the correct duration of the medicine for you child depending upon the child’s age and body weight. Do not give if your child is allergic to Lactulose.
