    Introduction About LEXANOX PASTE

    LEXANOX PASTE contains Amlexanox which belongs to the group of medicines called Antiallergic agents. LEXANOX PASTE is used in adults to manage minor aphthous ulcers (shallow sore inside the mouth).

    LEXANOX PASTE is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Amlexanox. Before applying LEXANOX PASTE, inform your doctor if you have kidney problems (such as renal impairment), and/or liver problems (hepatic impairment).

    LEXANOX PASTE is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It is also not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and in elderly patients (due to lack of data on safety and efficacy).

    The most common side effects of applying LEXANOX PASTE are pain, stinging and/or burning sensation at the site of application. Consult your doctor before applying the medicine.

    • Manage minor aphthous ulcers in adult patients

    How LEXANOX PASTE Works

    LEXANOX PASTE inhibits the synthesis of various mediators of inflammation (such as histamine and leukotrienes from various cells in the body) which results in decreased inflammatory activity with swelling and redness associated with minor aphthous ulcers thus managing the decrease in affected individuals.

    How to use LEXANOX PASTE

    Always apply LEXANOX PASTE as directed by your physician. It is for oral cavity use only. Apply a thin layer of this medicine on the affected area gently. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of LEXANOX PASTE

    Common

    • pain, stinging and/or burning sensation at the site of application

    Uncommon

    • contact/oral mucositis (inflammatory mucosal reaction)
    • dry lips, bumps on lip
    • nausea, diarrhea
    • contact dermatitis (itchy rash caused by substance/allergic reaction)

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Nausea:

    Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating heavily rich or spicy food. Stay hydrated. Consult and inform your doctor if it persists for long or worsens with time.

    Diarrhoea:

    Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating heavily rich or spicy food. Drink Oral Rehydration Solution to compensate for the loss of water and minerals. Stay hydrated. Consult and inform your doctor if it persists for long or worsens with time.

    Pregnancy

    LEXANOX PASTE is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before applying the medicine.

    Breastfeeding

    LEXANOX PASTE is not recommended for use in breast feeding women. Consult your doctor before applying the medicine.

    Driving and Using Machines

    LEXANOX PASTE is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or use machinery. Consult your doctor before applying the medicine.

    Kidney

    LEXANOX PASTE should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems such as renal impairment. Consult your doctor before applying LEXANOX PASTE.

    Liver

    Allergy
