    Introduction About LEBACT O TABLET

    LEBACT O TABLET is a combination of Levofloxacin and Ornidazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics and Anthelminthics respectively. It is used in the management of various bacterial infections such as gastrointestinal infections, chest infections and urinary tract infections. It can also be used in the management of protozoal infections (parasitic infections).

    Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking LEBACT O TABLET because it might aggravate your existing symptoms. [ GBNKEYWORD] is not recommended for use if you have or ever had epilepsy (fits) or tendon problems such as (tendonitis). LEBACT O TABLET should be used with caution in patients having liver, kidney and heart problems. Consult your doctor before taking it. LEBACT O TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women.

    LEBACT O TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (under 18 years of age). It should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above). Consult your doctor before taking it. The most common side-effects of taking LEBACT O TABLET are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dizziness, headache and sleeping problems. Ask for your doctor’s advise if any of these worsen or doesn’t improve.

    Uses Of LEBACT O TABLET

    It is used to manages:

    • Gastrointestinal infections
    • Chest infections
    • Urinary tract infections
    • Other bacterial and protozoal infections (parasitic infections)

    How LEBACT O TABLET Works

    LEBACT O TABLET works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria which are responsible for causing various infections in the body. It inhibits the synthesis of bacterial enzymes which can cause damage to the structure of DNA leading to cell death. Thus, it effectively manages different types of infections caused by microorganisms. Also, it works against the parasites which are responsible for causing various infections in the body. It inhibits the synthesis of protein and manages the activation of free radicals and arrests the growth of parasites.

    How to use LEBACT O TABLET

    Take LEBACT O TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. You can take LEBACT O TABLET with meals or at any time during the meals. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    • Blurred vision
    • Ringing in ears
    • Decreased blood pressure, rapid heartbeat
    • Muscle weakness
    • Kidney failure
    • Fever

    Stop taking LEBACT O TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • Signs of severe intestinal problems (such as watery diarrhoea with blood, stomach cramps and high temperature)
    • Inflammation and pain in tendons and ligaments
    • Fits (convulsions)

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Constipation

    Try to eat more high-fiber foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables, cereals and drink plenty of water. Exercise regularly (such as daily walk). If this does not help, consult your doctor for receiving alternate management for constipation.  

    Diarrhea

    Drink lot of fluids such as water to keep yourself hydrated. Avoid taking any medicine on your own for managing diarrhea. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

    Dry Mouth

    Sip water regularly and other sugar free liquids. Do not use mouthwashes that contain alcohol because they can make your mouth dry, use mouthwash that is used only for dry mouth. Limit your caffeine intake. Avoid smoking or using tobacco products. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

    Nausea And Vomiting

    Take LEBACT O TABLET with or immediately after food. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily, fried and spicy foods. Do not perform any strenuous activities immediately after eating. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve. 

    Stomach Pain

    Rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller and frequent meals. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

    Pregnancy

    Contraindicated

    LEBACT O TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women or women who are planning to become pregnant. Consult your doctor before taking LEBACT O TABLET.

    Breastfeeding

    Contraindicated

    LEBACT O TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking LEBACT O TABLET.

    Driving and Using Machines

    Use with Caution

    Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizzy, sleepy, spinning feeling, changes in your vision, inability to concentrate or coordinate things, fits, tremor, rigidity and temporary loss of consciousness after taking LEBACT O TABLET.

    Alcohol

    Consult your doctor

    Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking LEBACT O TABLET because it may aggrevate your existing symptoms.

    Kidney

    Use with Caution

    LEBACT O TABLET should be taken with caution in patients with kidney problems. Consult your doctor before taking LEBACT O TABLET.

    Liver

    Use with Caution

    LEBACT O TABLET should be taken with caution in patients with liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking LEBACT O TABLET.

    Allergy

    Do not take LEBACT O TABLET if you are allergic to Levofloxacin and Ornidazole

    Heart Disease

    Use with Caution

    LEBACT O TABLET should be taken with caution in patients who have or ever had a family history of prolonged QT interval, slow heart rhythm, heart failure or weak heart, history of heart attack, aortic aneurysm or large vessel peripheral aneurysm ( enlargement or bulging of large blood vessels of the heart), heart valve regurgitation ( leaking of heart valves), congenital heart valve disease or aortic dissection, vascular disorders such as Takayasu arteritis, giant cell arteritis, bechet’s disease, high blood pressure and endocarditis (infection of the heart). Consult your doctor before taking LEBACT O TABLET.

    Use In Pediatrics

    Contraindicated

    LEBACT O TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (under 18 years of age). Consult your child’s doctor for advice.

    Use In Geriatrics

    Use with Caution

    LEBACT O TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above). Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Others

    LEBACT O TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

    • Have ever had epilepsy (fits)
    • Have ever had tendon problems such as (tendonitis)

    Before taking LEBACT O TABLET, inform your doctor if you:

    • Have or had any damage to brain due to stroke or any injury to brain
    • Have glucose -6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (an inherited disease causing deficiency of an enzyme called glucose -6-phosphate dehydrogenase in the body)
    • Have or ever had mental health problems
    • Have connective tissue disorders (such as marfan syndrome, ehlers-danlos syndrome and turner syndrome)
    • Have sjogren’s disease or myasthenia gravis (autoimmune disorder)
    • Have salt imbalances in the body (such as potassium or magnesium)
    • Have diabetes (high blood sugar)
    • Are experiencing rapid onset of shortness of breath
    • Have multiple sclerosis (chronic condition affecting the brain)

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before taking LEBACT O TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:

    • Corticosteroids (medicines used to manage inflammation) Ex. prednisolone
    • Warfarin (used to manage clotting of blood)
    • Theophylline (used to manage asthma)
    • NSAIDS (medicines used to manage pain and inflammation) Ex. ibuprofen, fenbufen
    • Cyclosporine (used to manage organ rejection during organ transplantation)
    • Cimetidine (used to manage acidity)
    • Probenecid (used to manage gout)
    • Anti-arrhythmics (medicines used to manage abnormal heart rhythm) Ex. quinidine, hydroquinidine, disopyramide, sotalol, dofetilide, ibutilideamiodarone)
    • Antidepressants (used to manage depression) Ex. amitriptyline, imipramine
    • Antipsychotics (used to manage mental disorders) Ex. risperidone, quetiapine
    • Macrolide antibiotics (used to manage bacterial infections) Ex. erythromycin, azithromycin, clarithromycin
    • Lithium (used to manage mood disorders)
    • Antiepileptics (medicines used to manage fits) Ex. phenytoin, phenobarbital
    • Vecuronium bromide (medicine used as a general anaesthetic agent during surgeries)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of LEBACT O TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Overdosage symptoms of LEBACT O TABLET includes fits, confusion, dizziness, less conscious, tremor, heart problems leading to irregular heartbeats, nausea and burning stomach.
