    Introduction About LACSOFT C GEL

    LACSOFT C GEL is a combination of Clobetasol and Ammonium lactate which belongs to a group of medicines called Topical Corticosteroids, and Alpha-hydroxy acids respectively. LACSOFT C GEL is used to manage, control, prevent, improve conditions, and symptoms of corticosteroid -responsive dermatoses, moderate to severe plaque-type psoriasis, dry skin, scaly skin and ichthyosis vulgaris.

    Corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses is a skin condition that occurs as a reaction to corticosteroid medications which is generally characterized with symptoms such as dry skin, redness, itching, rashes, and or sores.

    Psoriasis is a skin disease that causes skin rash with itchy, scaly patches which most commonly occurs on the knees, elbows, trunk and scalp.

    Ichthyosis vulgaris is an inherited or acquired skin condition that occurs when skin doesn’t shed its dead cells leading to symptoms such as dry, itchy, rough skin that looks dirty noticeably on the palms and soles of the feet.

    LACSOFT C GEL is not recommended for use in patients having skin infections such as rosacea (severe flushing of skin on and around your nose), and perioral dermatitis (spotty red rash around your mouth).

    Before applying LACSOFT C GEL, inform your doctor if you have concomitant skin infections (skin disease caused by parasites). Consult your doctor for advice.

    LACSOFT C GEL should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if it is clearly necessary. Consult your doctor for advice.

    LACSOFT C GEL is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 12 years. Consult your doctor before taking LACSOFT C GEL.

    Do not apply LACSOFT C GEL on your face beyond 5 days. Avoid applying LACSOFT C GEL  around your eyes, including eyelids.

    The most common side effects are LACSOFT C GEL are burning and stinging sensation, irritation, itchy skin, red skin, and numbness of fingers. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms gets worse.

    Uses Of LACSOFT C GEL

    It is used to manage, control, prevent, & improve conditions, and symptoms of:

    • corticosteroid -responsive dermatoses  
    • moderate to severe plaque-type psoriasis  
    • dry skin
    • scaly skin
    • ichthyosis vulgaris  

    How LACSOFT C GEL Works

    LACSOFT C GEL helps to manage skin infections, where Clobetasol manages inflammation by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Ammonium lactate acts as a moisturizer and provides relief from minor skin infections.

    How to use LACSOFT C GEL

    Apply LACSOFT C GEL as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. On the affected area, apply a thin layer of this medicine. Your doctor will decide the right dose depends on your age, body weight and severity of infection.

    Side Effects Of LACSOFT C GEL

    Common

    • burning, stinging sensation
    • red skin
    • folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicle)
    • cracking and fissuring of the skin
    • numbness of fingers
    • skin atrophy (thin appearing skin)
    • telangiectasia (small widen blood vessels on skin)
    • dryness
    • hypertrichosis (excessive hair growth)
    • acneiform eruptions (a skin condition that causes small, raised, acne-like bumps on affected site)
    • hypopigmentation (skin condition marked by lighter skin tone)
    • perioral dermatitis (red rash that circles the mouth)
    • secondary infection
    • stretch marks
    • heat rash
    • peeling skin

    Uncommon

    • eczema (skin inflammation)
    • petechiae (a small red or purple spot caused by bleeding into the skin)
    • hyperpigmentation (darkened patches or spots on the skin)

    Rare

    Stop applying LACSOFT C GEL and contact your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • irritation
    • signs of hypersensitivity reaction such as  raised, itchy, red rash, mild redness and itching, severe blisters and swelling

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Itchy Skin:

    Avoid scratching your skin. Cool your skin by holding onto a damp towel. Try to have cool or warm baths. Wear loose clothing and do not wear tight clothes. Try to avoid using perfumed soaps, deodorants or moisturizers and always use unperfumed moisturizer.

    Pregnancy

    LACSOFT C GEL should be used with caution during pregnancy only if its is clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before applying the medicine.

    Breastfeeding

    LACSOFT C GEL should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before applying the medicine.

    Allergy

    Do not use LACSOFT C GEL if you are allergic to Clobetasol, Ammonium lactate or any other ingredients of this medicine.

    Others

    LACSOFT C GEL is not recommended for use if you:

    • have skin problems such as rosacea (severe flushing of skin on and around your nose)
    • have perioral dermatitis (spotty red rash around your mouth)

    Before applying LACSOFT C GEL, inform your doctor if you:
