Introduction About LABA NEB SOLUTION
LABA NEB SOLUTION contains Arformoterol which belongs to the group of medicines called Bronchodilators. It is indicated for the long-term maintenance management of bronchoconstriction (obstruction of airways) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including emphysema (damage to lung alveoli causing frequent cough) and chronic bronchitis (chronic recurring lung disease with productive cough).
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease refers to the group of chronic diseases of lung which causes block in the airways. The symptoms include wheezing, difficulty in breathing, cough, etc. Your doctor might ask you to take several diagnostic tests before starting the management with LABA NEB SOLUTION.
LABA NEB SOLUTION is not recommended for use in patients having asthma and not using medication for asthma control. LABA NEB SOLUTION should be used with caution in patients having liver, heart or thyroid problems, high blood pressure, epilepsy (fits) and diabetes.
Caution must be exercised while using LABA NEB SOLUTION in pregnant and breast-feeding women so, consult with your doctor before taking it. LABA NEB SOLUTION is generally not recommended for use in children and it should be used with caution in elderly patients (above 65 years of age).
The most common side effects of taking LABA NEB SOLUTION are chest or back pain, sinus or nasal congestion, diarrhoea, flu-like symptoms such as headache, fever, vomiting, tiredness. Consult your doctor for advice if any of the symptoms worsen or doesn’t improve.

How LABA NEB SOLUTION Works
Take LABA NEB SOLUTION as advised by your physician. It is for oral inhalational use only. It is administered by nebulisation using standard nebuliser machine (with a face mask or mouthpiece) which is connected to an air compressor.
Your doctor will guide on how to use the nebuliser and will decide the correct dose and duration of LABA NEB SOLUTION for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop using LABA NEB SOLUTION unless your doctor advises you to stop.
How to use LABA NEB SOLUTION
Take LABA NEB SOLUTION as advised by your physician. It is for oral inhalational use only. It is administered by nebulisation using standard nebuliser machine (with a face mask or mouthpiece) which is connected to an air compressor.
Your doctor will guide on how to use the nebuliser and will decide the correct dose and duration of LABA NEB SOLUTION for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop using LABA NEB SOLUTION unless your doctor advises you to stop.
Side Effects Of LABA NEB SOLUTION
Common
- chest pain or back pain
- diarrhoea
- sinus or nasal congestion
- leg cramps and swelling
- rash
- chest tightness or congestion and signs of bronchitis like coughing up thickened mucus and breathing difficulties
- pain
- trouble breathing
- flu-like symptoms (fever, tiredness, headache, nausea)
Rare
Stop using LABA NEB SOLUTION and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- sudden shortness of breath immediately after using LABA NEB SOLUTION
- worsening of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or asthma
- increase in blood pressure, irregular or fast heartbeat, chest pain
- serious allergic reactions like skin rash or hives, swelling of the mouth, tongue, face and breathing difficulties
How To Manage Side Effects
Diarrhea:
Keep yourself hydrated by drinking lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Headache:
Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Try to take rest in a quiet and dark room. Drink tea or coffee. Apply a pain-relieving balm on your forehead and massage on scalp or head with mild pressure. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Warning & Precautions
Pregnancy
LABA NEB SOLUTION should be used with caution in pregnant woman or in woman planning to become pregnant as it is not known if it will harm the baby. Consult your physician before taking it.
Breastfeeding
LABA NEB SOLUTION should be used with caution in breastfeeding woman as it is not known if it passes through mother’s milk and if it can harm your baby. Consult your physician before taking it.
Liver
LABA NEB SOLUTION should be used with caution in patients having liver diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
Allergy
Do not take LABA NEB SOLUTION if you are allergic to Arformoterol or Formoterol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Lungs
LABA NEB SOLUTION is not recommended for use in patients having lung diseases such as asthma and not using medication for asthma control. Consult your doctor for advice.
Heart Disease
LABA NEB SOLUTION should be used with caution in patients having heart diseases or high blood pressure. Consult your doctor for advice.
Others
Before taking LABA NEB SOLUTION, inform your doctor if you:
- have seizures or fits
- have thyroid problems
- have diabetes
Use in Pediatrics:
LABA NEB SOLUTION is not recommended for use in children as it is not known if it is safe and effective in children. Consult your child’s doctor for advice.
Use in Geriatrics:
LABA NEB SOLUTION should be used with caution in elderly patients (above 65 years of age). Consult your doctor for advice.
Interactions
A. Drug - Drug interactions:
Before using LABA NEB SOLUTION, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:
- other adrenergic drugs like phenylephrine, ephedrine, salbutamol, etc (used in many conditions like bronchodilation, smooth muscle contraction, etc)
- medicines used to manage acute exacerbations of asthma (Ex. aminophylline, theophylline)
- medicines used in autoimmune and inflammatory disease conditions (Ex. prednisolone, hydrocortisone)
- medicines used to remove excessive body fluids (Ex. furosemide, bumetanide)
- medicines used in depression (Ex. isocarboxazid, phenelzine, doxepin, amitriptyline)
- medicines used to manage heart problems (Ex. quinidine, procainamide, propranolol, atenolol)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally use too much of LABA NEB SOLUTION, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose include angina or chest pain, high or low blood pressure, increased or irregular heartbeat, nervousness, shaky movements of one or more parts of the body, headache, dry mouth, fast or fluttering heartbeat, muscle cramps, nausea, fatigue, dizziness, generally feeling unwell, increased blood sugar level and insomnia.
