Introduction About INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET
INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET contains Desogestrel which belongs to the group of medicines called Oral contraceptives. INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET is a progestogen-only-pill (contraceptive pill that contains only one female sex hormone known as progestogen) which is used to manage pregnancy in women.
INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Desogestrel. It is also not recommended for use in patients suffering from thrombosis (blood clot in a vein), and/or who have/suspected of breast cancer. The medicine is also not indicated for use in patients suffering from unusual vaginal bleeding, pulmonary embolism, jaundice (yellowing of skin), and/or severe liver disease.
Before taking INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, epilepsy, tuberculosis, high blood pressure, chloasma (yellowish-brown pigmentation patches on the skin, particularly of the face), and/or kidney problems.
INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET is not recommended for use during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy which is advised to be used with caution in breastfeeding women.
INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET should be used with caution in adolescent girls (aged 12-19 years) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly women (aged 50-years and above) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET are mood alteration, depressed mood, decreased sexual drive (libido), headache, nausea, breast pain, and/or irregular/absence of menstruation. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.

INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET works by managing the sperm cells from entering the womb and changes the lining of uterus by increasing the thickness of cervical mucus thus managing the fertilization process and reducing the chance of pregnancy in required individuals.
How to use INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET
Take INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition.
Side Effects Of INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET
Common

Uncommon
- vaginal infection

Stop taking INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- signs of thrombosis (blood clot in vein/artery) such as severe pain/swelling in either legs; unexplained chest pain, breathlessness, and/or unusual cough with blood
- signs of liver problems such as sudden, severe stomachache, jaundice (yellowing of skin or whites of eyes)
- suspected of cancer such as breast cancer (associated with symptoms such as lump in breast, swelling of breast, irritation of breast skin)
- unexplained vaginal bleeding
- signs of allergic (hypersensitivity) reactions such as swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty in breathing, and/or difficulty in swallowing
- signs of ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside womb) such as sudden/severe pain in lower abdomen/stomach
- immobilized
How To Manage Side Effects
Headache:
If INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET causes headache, then take rest and drink plenty of fluids. Try to avoid drinking alcohol. Ask your doctor to recommend a painkiller. Headaches should usually go away after the first week of taking INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET. If it lasts more than a week or becomes severe, then consult and inform your doctor.
Nausea and vomiting:
Take INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET with/just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich/spicy foods, sugary snacks and drinks. Avoid drinking too much liquid along with your meals, and drink slowly in between meals. Consult your doctor if the condition worsens.
Tiredness:
Make sure you take rest and drink plenty of fluids. Avoid or limit the consumption of alcohol. Try to take INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET at a time when you can sit down (or lie down) when the symptoms are at their worst. Avoid driving or using tools or machinery until you feel well.
Rashes:
Do not scratch the affected area. Wear protective clothing while going outdoors. Regularly moisturize your skin. Consult and inform your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

Pregnancy
INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET is generally not recommended for use during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy. Consult your doctor immediately if you are suspected of pregnancy in management with INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET.
Breastfeeding
INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Driving and Using Machines
INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET is unlikely to affect your ability to drive/operate machines.
Kidney
INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems such as chronic kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET.
Liver
INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with/history of jaundice (yellowing of skin), severe liver disease. It should be taken with caution in patients with other liver problems such as liver cancer. Consult your doctor before taking INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET.
Allergy
Do not take INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET if you are allergic to Desogestrel, and/any other ingredients of this medicine. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Lungs
INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with lung problems such as pulmonary embolism. Consult your doctor before taking INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET.
Others
INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you:
- have thrombosis (blood clot in a vein) such as deep venous thrombosis
- have/suspected of breast cancer
- have unusual vaginal bleeding
Before taking INTIMACY 0.075MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you:
- have diabetes
- suffer from epilepsy, tuberculosis
- have high blood pressure
- have/had chloasma (yellowish-brown pigmentation patches on the skin, particularly of the face)
- have intolerance to certain sugars (such as lactose)

- medicines used for epilepsy (Ex. primidone, phenytoin, carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, felbamate, topiramate, phenobarbital)
- medicines used manage tuberculosis (Ex. rifampicin, rifabutin)
- medicines used to manage HIV infections (Ex. ritonavir, nelfinavir, nevirapine, efavirenz)
- medicines used to manage Hepatitis C virus infection (Ex. boceprevir, telaprevir)
- medicines used to manage other infectious diseases (Ex. griseofulvin)
- bosentan (used to manage high blood pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs)
- St.John’s wort (herbal medicine used to manage depressive moods)
- medicines used to manage certain bacterial infections (Ex. clarithromycin, erythromycin)
- medicines used to manage fungal infections (Ex. ketoconazole, itraconazole, fluconazole)
- high blood pressure (hypertension)
- diltiazem (used to manage high blood pressure, angina, certain heart rhythm disorders)
- ciclosporin (used to manage organ rejection after transplantation)
- lamotrigine (used to manage seizures)
