Introduction About IDROFOS 3MG INJECTION

IDROFOS 3MG INJECTION contains Ibandronic acid, which belongs to the group of medicines called Bisphosphonates. It is used to reverse bone loss, increase bone mass in women, lower the chances of bone fracture, and manage postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis is defined as the thinning or weakening of the bones, commonly occurs in women after the menopause. Symptoms include back pain, loss of height over time, stooped posture, and easy bone fracture.

Along with this management, your doctor might advise you to maintain a healthy lifestyle, like eating a balanced diet rich in calcium and vitamin D, walking or any other weight-bearing exercise, maintaining good oral hygiene, and avoiding smoking and alcohol consumption.

Prior to the management, your doctor might want you to take blood tests to understand your existing levels of calcium in your blood and other disturbances in bone and mineral metabolism. The doctor may ask you to undergo a routine dental examination.

IDROFOS 3MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients who have or have had low blood calcium levels. Before receiving IDROFOS 3MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have or have ever had problems with your mouth or teeth (poor dental health or gum disease), have not had a dental checkup for a long time, are a smoker, have cancer, disturbances of mineral metabolism (vitamin D deficiency), kidney disease, or heart problems.

IDROFOS 3MG INJECTION is not recommended for use by pregnant and breastfeeding women. IDROFOS 3MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age. The most common side effects of receiving IDROFOS 3MG INJECTION are headache, indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, rash, stomach pain, and flu. Contact your physician if any of the symptoms worsen.
