    Introduction About HYOCIMAX S TABLET

HYOCIMAX S TABLET contains Hyoscyamine, which belongs to the group of medicines called Anticholinergic agents. It is used to manage the symptoms of functional intestinal disorders such as mild dysentery and diverticulitis (infection of the intestinal pouches). It is also used to control gastric secretion, spasms in internal organs and increased contractions and abdominal cramps associated with conditions such as cystitis (inflammation of the urinary bladder) and pylorospasm (abnormal contraction of the lower part of the stomach).

It is also used to provide symptomatic relief from biliary colic (blockade of the gall bladder duct), renal colic (pain in the kidney) and the common cold when used with appropriate analgesics. It is also used as adjunctive therapy to manage peptic ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, acute enterocolitis (inflammation of the digestive tract) and other functional gastrointestinal disorders in affected individuals.

Functional intestinal disorders are common disorders that are generally characterised by persistent and recurring gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, an inability to swallow and indigestion. A peptic ulcer is a condition that occurs when stomach acid damages the lining of the digestive tract. It is generally characterised by symptoms such as a burning sensation in the stomach, bloating and/or heartburn. Irritable bowel syndrome is a common disorder that affects the large intestine and is characterised by symptoms such as abdominal cramping, diarrhoea, constipation and bloating in affected individuals.

Before starting management with HYOCIMAX S TABLET, your doctor might advise you to take an echocardiogram (ECG) to access your heart rate. HYOCIMAX S TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye), obstructive uropathy (hindered urine flow), myasthenia gravis (weak muscles), unstable cardiovascular status or myocardial ischemia.

Before taking HYOCIMAX S TABLET, inform your doctor if you have undergone an ileostomy (surgical removal of the ileum) or colostomy (surgical removal of the colon), a hiatal hernia associated with reflux oesophagitis (inflammation of the oesophagus followed by acid reflux) and coronary heart disease or congestive heart failure.

HYOCIMAX S TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women. It is not recommended for use by breastfeeding women and children (aged below 12 years). The most common side effects of taking HYOCIMAX S TABLET are dryness of the mouth & eyes, decreased sweating, headache, visual blurring, constipation, urinary retention and/or impotence.
