    HNU D3 60K SUGAR FREE ORAL SOLUTION contains Cholecalciferol which belongs to the group of medicines called Vitamin D analogs. It is used to manage Vitamin D deficiency. This may occur when your diet or lifestyle does not provide you enough vitamin D or when your body requires more vitamin D during pregnancy.

    Along with this management, your doctor might advise you to eat and drink foods that are rich in calcium. Your doctor might want to take certain blood tests prior to the management to understand the existing condition.

    HNU D3 60K SUGAR FREE ORAL SOLUTION is not recommended for use if you have high blood or urine levels of calcium, kidney stones or serious kidney problems and high levels of Vitamin D.

    Before taking HNU D3 60K SUGAR FREE ORAL SOLUTION, inform your doctor if you have heart or kidney disease, sarcoidosis (a multisystem chronic inflammatory condition which can affect your lungs, heart, and kidneys) or if you are taking medicines containing vitamin D, increase parathyroid hormone in your blood or rickets (problems in bone).

    HNU D3 60K SUGAR FREE ORAL SOLUTION should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women. HNU D3 60K SUGAR FREE ORAL SOLUTION is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 12 years of age). It should be used with caution in elderly patients.

    The most common side effects of taking HNU D3 60K SUGAR FREE ORAL SOLUTION are increased calcium level in the blood or urine. Consult your doctor if you experience any unusual effects.

    HNU D3 60K SUGAR FREE ORAL SOLUTION helps the body to absorb calcium and phosphorus by increasing their absorption from the gut and reducing the amount removed by the kidneys and it is a fat-soluble vitamin.

    How to use HNU D3 60K SUGAR FREE ORAL SOLUTION

    Take HNU D3 60K SUGAR FREE ORAL SOLUTION as advised by your physician.  Shake well before use. You may also mix the dose with a small amount of cold or lukewarm food immediately before use. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of HNU D3 60K SUGAR FREE ORAL SOLUTION

    Uncommon

    • increased calcium in the blood (hypercalcaemia) (symptoms include nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite, constipation, stomach ache, bone pain, extreme thirst, increased urination, muscle weakness, drowsiness and confusion)
    • increased calcium in the urine (hypercalciuria)

    Rare

    • skin rash
    • itching
    • raised itchy rash (hives)

    Stop taking HNU D3 60K SUGAR FREE ORAL SOLUTION and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • high calcium levels in blood (signs include severe nausea, vomiting, constipation, loss of appetite and irregular heartbeat)
    •  signs of impaired kidney function (signs include increased urination including night times, excess thirst, increased blood pressure)
    • severe allergic reaction (including rash, itching/swelling especially of the face/tongue/throat severe dizziness and trouble breathing)

    Others

    • have high levels of calcium in the blood (hypercalcaemia) or urine (hypercalciuria)
    •  have high levels of vitamin D in the blood (hypervitaminosis D)

    Before taking HNU D3 60K SUGAR FREE ORAL SOLUTION, inform your doctor if you:

    • are taking medicines containing vitamin D

    Use in Paediatrics:

    Interactions

    A. Drug-Drug Interactions:

    Before taking HNU D3 60K SUGAR FREE ORAL SOLUTION, inform your doctor, if you are taking any of the following medicines:

    • medicines used to manage epilepsy (Ex. carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin)
    • cardiac glycosides to manage heart condition (Ex. digoxin, digitoxin)
    • thiazide diuretics (water tablets) (Ex. bendroflumethiazide) to manage high blood pressure
    • medicine used to manage high cholesterol (Ex. cholestyramine)
    • laxative containing liquid paraffin to manage constipation
    • medicines used to manage fungal infections (Ex. ketoconazole, itraconazole)
    • actinomycin (medicine used to manage some forms of cancer)
    • glucocorticosteroids (Ex. dexamethasone or prednisolone) used to manage inflammation

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of HNU D3 60K SUGAR FREE ORAL SOLUTION, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose include damage of soft tissues and kidney, lack of appetite, thirst, nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, muscle weakness, fatigue, mental disturbances, increased urination, bone pain and in severe cases may result in coma and death.
