Introduction About HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT
HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT contains Tacrolimus which belongs to the group of medicines called Immunosuppressants. It is used to manage allergic eye conditions (such as allergic conjunctivitis, keratoconjunctivitis, etc.). It also reduces eye inflammation and dryness. It can also be used to manage corneal graft rejection following corneal transplantation.
Apply a small amount of HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT into the affected eye(s). It is for ophthalmic use only. Wash your hands before and after application. Avoid touching the tip of the ointment tube with your mouth, nose or other parts of body to avoid contamination.
If you wear soft contact lenses, make sure to remove them before applying HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT. Consult your doctor about the usage of contact lenses while undergoing management with HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT.
Before using HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT inform your doctor if you have pre-existing disease conditions such as autoimmune disease or skin disorders. You must also inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems.
Do not use HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor. HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT is not suitable for use in infants and toddlers aged below 2 years.
The use of HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT is generally safe and well tolerated. However, it may cause mild eye irritation, discomfort or redness in some individuals. Consult your doctor if this bothers you.

When applied to the eyes, it stops allergic response in the eyes and reduces eye inflammation. It also suppresses the immune system and manages the risk of graft rejection in patients undergoing corneal transplantation.
How to use HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT
Apply HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT as directed by the physician. It is for ophthalmic use only. Apply a small amount of the medicine into the affected eye(s). Wash your hands before and after application.
Do not touch the tip of the ointment tube with your mouth, nose or other parts of body to avoid contamination. If you wear soft contact lenses, make sure to remove them before applying HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and health condition. Do not stop using HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT unless your doctor tells you to stop.

How To Manage Side Effects
Eye irritation, redness or discomfort:
Avoid watching direct light sources. Do not strain your eyes too much. Protect your eyes from bright light while going outdoors using sunglasses. Consult your doctor if this side effect bothers you.

Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if you experience any vision problems after applying HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT.
Alcohol
Avoid consumption of alcohol while using HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT as it may cause eye redness.
Kidney
HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.
Liver
HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT should be used with caution in patients with liver problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.
Allergy
Talk to your doctor before using HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT if you are allergic to Tacrolimus or to any macrolide antibiotics (such as erythromycin, azithromycin).
Others
Before using HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT inform your doctor if you:
- have skin cancer
- have weak immune system
- have any skin conditions that hinders skin absorption (such as Netherton’s syndrome)
- have generalised erythroderma (severe skin redness and scaling)
- have any autoimmune diseases
Use in pediatrics:
HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT should be used in children and adolescents (aged between 2-18 years) only if prescribed by the physician. It is not recommended for use in children aged below 2 years. However, consult your doctor for advice.
Use in geriatrics:
HHMUS 0.03% EYE OINTMENT should be used with caution in elderly patients. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.
