Introduction About HEPAFUL INJECTION
HEPAFUL INJECTION contains L-Ornithine L-Aspartate which belongs to the group of medicines called Amino Acids. It is used to manage latent and prominent hepatic encephalopathy (decline in brain function as a result of liver failure) and liver cirrhosis (condition in which your liver is scarred and permanently damaged).
During management with HEPAFUL INJECTION, your doctor might advise you to undertake blood investigations before and during management such as kidney and liver function test to manage the risk of any unusual effects.
Avoid consuming alcohol while receiving HEPAFUL INJECTION. It is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney function impairment (renal failure). Consult your doctor before receiving it.
HEPAFUL INJECTION should be used with caution in patients suffering from severe liver damage. HEPAFUL INJECTION is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women unless clearly advised by the doctor.
The common side effects of receiving HEPAFUL INJECTION are nausea, vomiting, cough, muscle cramps and diarrhoea. Inform your doctor immediately if any of the side effect worsens or persist for a long period of time.

How HEPAFUL INJECTION Works
HEPAFUL INJECTION helps in improving liver function by helping in urea synthesis in liver (important metabolic process in the body), reduces levels of ammonia from liver, muscles and brain, helps in normalizing the levels of liver enzymes. It also protects the liver from further damage by drugs, alcohol and promotes liver regeneration by increasing liver energy balance.
How to use HEPAFUL INJECTION
HEPAFUL INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into a vein as an intravenous infusion. Your doctor will decide the correct dosage and management duration depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

How To Manage Side Effects
Diarrhea
Drink lot of fluids such as water to keep yourself hydrated. Avoid eating high-fat or spicy foods. Inform your doctor if the symptom gets worse.
Nausea And Vomiting
Stick to simple meals while receiving HEPAFUL INJECTION. Avoid eating oily rich, fried or spicy foods. Do not lie down or sleep immediately after eating. Inform your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

HEPAFUL INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital and so it is unlikely to receive an overdose. However, consult your doctor or nurse immediately if you experience any unusual symptoms.
