Introduction About HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION
HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION contains hydrocortisone, minoxidil and tretinoin that help in managing hair loss and promoting growth of hair in men. HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION is used to enhance growth of hair in men having a receding hairline and hair loss in male-pattern at the top of scalp (androgenetic alopecia), hair loss in a diffuse pattern (Ex. Telogen Effluvium), and hair loss due to autoimmune disorders such as Alopecia Areata.
HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION is only for men and should not be used on women.Also, HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION is not recommended to be taken by patients suffering from various heart conditions, such as elevated blood pressure or an irregular or fast heartbeat. It is also not advised to be used in patients over the age of 65.
The most common side effects of taking HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION are headache, excessive growth of hair, unwanted growth of hair at undesired places such as the face, increased body weight, and itching in the eyes. Consult your doctor if any of your symptoms get worse.
Uses Of HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION
HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION is used to:
- Enhance growth of hair in men having a receding hairline and hair loss in male-pattern at the top of scalp (androgenetic alopecia)
- Enhance growth of hair in men having hair loss in a diffuse pattern (Ex. Telogen Effluvium)
- Enhance growth of hair in men having hair loss due to autoimmune disorders such as Alopecia Areata
How HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION Works
HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION contains hydrocortisone, minoxidil, and tretinoin. Minoxidil, which is present in HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION, promotes hair growth by increasing the size of the hair follicle. Tretinoin present in HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION stimulates the hair follicles to grow by increasing their ability to divide and produce new cells (mitotic cells). Hydrocortisone present in HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION suppresses the inflammation and itching of the scalp by mitigating the release of chemicals that lead to inflammation, thereby maintaining the health of the scalp and promoting hair growth. Thus, all three drugs together not only promote hair growth but also manage hair loss in men.
How to use HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION
Apply HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION as advised by your physician. It is to be used only in males. HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION is applied on to the skin of the scalp directly. Wash your hands immediately after applying it. Avoid contact with eyes. Your doctor will decide the correct amount and frequency of application of HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION
Common
- headache
- excessive growth of hair
- growth of hair on undesired and unwanted areas such as face (hypertrichosis)
- development of rash along with itch (pruritis)
- allergic reactions (hypersenstivity) visible as redness (erythema), itch, swelling and feeling of tightness in throat
- itching in eyes (eye pruritis)
- inflammation of skin (dermatitis) due to contact and allergy
- increase in weight
Uncommon
- feeling sick (nausea).
- swelling (edema) of skin
- formation of blisters along with crusting
- dizziness
- rapid beating of heart (palpitations)
- shortness of breath (dyspnoea)
Rare
- Changes in texture of hair

- difficulty in swallowing and breathing due to onset of swelling of face, throat and/or lips
- redness, rash and itch (pruritis) that seems prolonged and doesn’t get resolved over time
- feeling of losing consciousness (fainting)
- rapid and irregular heartbeat
- pain in chest
- decreased blood pressure (hypotension)
- sudden gain in weight
- swelling and/or itching in eyes
How To Manage Side Effects
Headache
Stay hydrated and take rest as much possible. Stay away from harsh lights and loud sounds. Apply a pain-relieving balm on forehead and/or take Aspirin or Acetaminophen. If headache persists or worsens, consult your doctor.
Weight Gain
Eat healthy and well-balanced meals throughout the day packed with healthy and vital nutrients, vitamins and proteins. Also, moderate regular physical exercise is also recommended.

ContraindicatedHAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION is not recommended for women especially who are pregnant or who are planning pregnancy.
Breastfeeding

Driving and Using Machines

Allergy

Heart Disease

Use In Pediatrics

Use In Geriatrics

Others
HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION is not recommended for use if you:
- are a female
- are less than the age of 18
- suffer from hair loss due to an unknown reason
- suffer from increased blood pressure (hypertension) and/or are getting management for same
- have a scalp that has inflamed and/or irritated and/or painful skin
- have a condition affecting scalp and its skin (ex. psoriasis, sunburn)
- have recently got your scalp shaven
- do not have any family history of loss of hair
- have loss of hair that is sudden and in patches
- have any wound and/or dressing/bandage on scalp
- have any disorder of heart such as elevated blood pressure and irregular heart beats
- have dehydration

Interactions
A. Drug-Drug Interactions:
Before using HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- medicines used to manage skin disorders (ex. betamethasone dipropionate)
- medicine used to manage psoriasis (ex. anthralin
- medicines used to manage elevated blood pressure (ex. guanethidine)
- medications that have an increased abrasive action and lead to dryness (ex. alcohol, astringents, lime)
- medicines and/or cosmetic products containg oxidizing agents such as benzoyl peroxide
- mediations that increase the sensitivity to light (ex. tetracyclines, fluroquinolones, phenothiazines, sulphonamides)
- medications consisting of petroleum such as hair wax, hair gel
- medications used to manage blood pressure (ex. hydrazaline)
Overdosage:
With topical application of HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION, the chances of overdosage are very rare. However, if it happens, the application area is washed and cleaned. If HAIRMAX FORTE TOPICAL SOLUTION is swallowed, you are advised to contact your doctor immediately.
