Introduction About GRILINCTUS SYRUP
GRILINCTUS SYRUP is combination of Chlorpheniramine maleate, Dextromethorphan hydrobromide, Guaiphenesin, and Ammonium chloride which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihistamines, Antitussives, and Expectorants, respectively. It is used to provide relief from cough and symptoms of upper respiratory tract which includes nasal congestion associated with allergy/common cold in affected individuals.
GRILINCTUS SYRUP is not recommended for use if you are allergic to chlorpheniramine maleate, dextromethorphan hydrobromide, guaiphenesin, and/or ammonium chloride. It is also not recommended for use in patients with heart diseases (such as ventricular tachycardia, severe coronary disease), lung diseases (such as chronic bronchitis, asthma), and/or severe rise in blood pressure.
Before taking GRILINCTUS SYRUP, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, intolerance to certain sugars, kidney diseases (such as acute renal injury), and/or liver diseases.
GRILINCTUS SYRUP should be used with caution during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy. It is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. It is also not recommended for use in new-borns, infants, and children (aged below 12 years) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of taking GRILINCTUS SYRUP are nausea, stomach discomfort, drowsiness, dizziness, extreme happiness, feeling drunk/high, and/or vomiting. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.

GRILINCTUS SYRUP helps to provide relief from cough and upper respiratory tract symptoms (associated with allergy/common cold), where chlorpheniramine maleate works by managing the occurrence of allergic symptoms by blocking the action of histamine (substance responsible for allergic symptoms), dextromethorphan hydrobromide inhibits cough reflex by reducing the activity of certain receptors (responsible for cough reflex), and guaifenesin and ammonium chloride works by reducing the stickiness of the mucus resulting in its loosening & removal from the airways thus providing relief from cough and upper respiratory tract symptoms in affected individuals.
How to use GRILINCTUS SYRUP
Take GRILINCTUS SYRUP as advised by your physician. It is for oral use only. Shake well before use. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

How To Manage Side Effects
Nausea and vomiting
Try to take GRILINCTUS SYRUP with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.
Dizziness
Lie down until the dizziness passes and get up slowly. Do not bend down suddenly. Get a lot of rest. Walk slowly and carefully. Take plenty of fluids. Avoid drinking coffee, alcohol, or smoking. Consult your doctor if the condition persists for long or gets worsened.

GRILINCTUS SYRUP should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Breastfeeding
GRILINCTUS SYRUP is not recommended for used in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Kidney
GRILINCTUS SYRUP should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems such as acute renal failure. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Liver

Allergy

Lungs
GRILINCTUS SYRUP is not recommended for use in patients with lung problems such as chronic bronchitis, lower respiratory tract conditions such as asthma. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Heart Disease
GRILINCTUS SYRUP is not recommended for use in patients with heart diseases such as ventricular tachycardia (pounding heart rate) or severe coronary disease (disease of vessels supplying blood to heart muscles). Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Others
GRILINCTUS SYRUP is not recommended for use if you:
- severe rise in blood pressure

Use in Paediatrics

- paracetamol (medicine used to manage fever and pain)
