Introduction About GRILINCTUS BM TABLET
GRILINCTUS BM TABLET is a combination of Bromhexine and Terbutaline which belongs to the group of medicines called Mucolytics and Bronchodilators respectively. GRILINCTUS BM TABLET is indicated for the symptomatic management of cough in acute and chronic bronchitis and other bronchospastic disorders such as eosinophilia and in smokers’s cough. In these conditions, the airways become inflamed and swollen causing difficulty in breathing. When the medicine is given in combination, it makes breathing easier and relives the discomfort.
Before taking GRILINCTUS BM TABLET, inform your doctor if you had or have stomach ulcer, diabetes, overactive thyroid gland, disease of the heart, low levels of potassium in the blood (hypokalaemia), intolerance to fructose (sugar), fits, or if you are taking any other medicines like antibiotics. Consult your doctor for advice before taking.
GRILINCTUS BM TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and in elderly patients. GRILINCTUS BM TABLET is recommended in children above 2 years of age. The common side effects of GRILINCTUS BM TABLET are headache, nausea or vomiting, pain in the upper part of your abdomen, diarrhoea, palpitations. Consult your doctor immediately if any of the above side effects worsen or persists for a longer duration.

It is used to manage:
- cough in acute and chronic bronchitis
- bronchospastic disorders such as eosinophilia
- smokers’s cough
How GRILINCTUS BM TABLET Works
GRILINCTUS BM TABLET is a combination of Bromhexine and Terbutaline. Bromhexine is a mucolytics (agents that break down mucus present making it loose and thin) that it easier to cough out. Terbutaline is a bronchodilator which relaxes muscles in the airways, widens the airways and eases the symptoms.
How to use GRILINCTUS BM TABLET
Take GRILINCTUS BM TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow GRILINCTUS BM TABLET with a glass of water and do not chew or crush the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of GRILINCTUS BM TABLET
Common
- trembling or shaking
- headache
- pounding or rapid heartbeats (palpitations)
- cramps or feeling tense
- muscle weakness, thirst, pins and needles (low levels of potassium)
Uncommon
- nausea, vomiting
- pain in the upper part of abdomen
- diarrhoea
Rare
- hypersensitivity reactions
- rash, urticaria (itching)
Stop taking GRILINCTUS BM TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you are experiencing the following:
- serious allergic reactions that may cause swelling of face or throat, wheezing or sudden difficulties in breathing
- skin lesions such as severe blistering or peeling of your skin, mouth, throat, nose, eyes and genitals
- nervousness
- dizziness, drowsiness
- rapid heart rate
- shortness of breath
- chest discomfort
- flushed feeling and sweating
- anxiety
- dry mouth
How To Manage Side Effects

Diarrhea
Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.

Headache
Try to rest and relax. Apply pain balm on your forehead to ease off the pain. If there is no improvement in the symptom, contact your doctor.

Nausea And Vomiting
Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

Stomach Pain
Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller and frequent meals. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.

Interactions
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before taking GRILINCTUS BM TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- antibiotics used to manage infections (Ex. ampicillin, amoxicillin)
- steroid medicines (Ex. prednisolone)
- xanthine to manage asthma (Ex. theophylline)
- beta-blockers used to manage blood pressure (Ex. atenolol, propranolol)
- eye medicine (Ex. timolol)
- medicines for urinary retention (Ex. furosemide)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of GRILINCTUS BM TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are abdominal pain, agitation, palpitations (being of your heartbeat), seizures/fits, hypertension, hypotension (fainting) tachycardia (increased heartbeat) nervousness, headache, tremor, dry mouth, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, malaise (weakness) and insomnia (sleeplessness).
