    Introduction About GRILINCTUS BM SYRUP

    GRILINCTUS BM SYRUP is a combination of Bromhexine and Terbutaline which belongs to the group of medicines called Mucolytics and Bronchodilator respectively. GRILINCTUS BM SYRUP is used in the management of productive cough associated with bronchial asthma, acute and chronic bronchitis and other bronchopulmonary disorders where bronchospasm, mucous plugging and problems of expectoration co-exist.

    Before taking GRILINCTUS BM SYRUP, inform your doctor if you have or have ever had a stomach ulcer or if you are taking any other medicines like antibiotics. GRILINCTUS BM SYRUP should be used with caution in pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and elderly. Consult your doctor for advice.

    GRILINCTUS BM SYRUP is recommended only in children above 2 years of age. The common side effects of GRILINCTUS BM SYRUP feeling sick (nausea) or being sick (vomiting), pain in the upper part of your abdomen, diarrhoea. Consult your doctor immediately if you feel any of these side effects worsen or persists for a longer duration.

    • acute and chronic bronchitis

    How GRILINCTUS BM SYRUP Works

    GRILINCTUS BM SYRUP is a combination of Bromhexine and Terbutaline medicine. Bromhexine is a mucolytic (agents that break down mucus present making it loose and thin) that it easier to cough out. Terbutaline is a bronchodilator which relaxes muscles in the airways, widens the airways and eases the symptoms.

    How to use GRILINCTUS BM SYRUP

    Take GRILINCTUS BM SYRUP as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of GRILINCTUS BM SYRUP

    Common

    • nausea, vomiting
    • pain in the upper part of abdomen
    • diarrhoea

    Rare

    • hypersensitivity reactions
    • rash, urticaria (itching)
    • tremors
    • headache
    • palpitation
    • rapid heart rate
    • shortness of breath
    • flushed feeling and sweating
    • anxiety
    • muscle cramps
    • dry mouth

    Stop taking GRILINCTUS BM SYRUP and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • serious allergic reactions that may cause swelling of face or throat, wheezing or sudden difficulties in breathing
    • skin lesions such as severe blistering or peeling of your skin, mouth, throat, nose, eyes and genitals
    • uncontrollable shaking
    • nervousness
    • dizziness, drowsiness
    • difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
    • weakness
    • sweating
    • feel tightness of your chest
    • signs of pruritus

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Diarrhea

    Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.

    Nausea And Vomiting

    Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

    Stomach Pain

    Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller and frequent meals. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before taking GRILINCTUS BM SYRUP, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • antibiotics used to manage infections. (Ex. ampicillin, amoxicillin, erythromycin or oxytetracycline)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of GRILINCTUS BM SYRUP, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are abdominal pain, agitation, palpitations (being of your heartbeat), seizures/fits, hypertension, hypotension (fainting) tachycardia (increased heartbeat) nervousness, headache, tremor, dry mouth, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, malaise (weakness) and insomnia (sleeplessness).
