    Introduction About GLUCAGEN HYPOKIT 1MG INJECTION

    GLUCAGEN HYPOKIT 1MG INJECTION contains Glucagon which belongs to the group of medicines called Hyperglycemic agents. It is used for immediate, emergency use for children and adults with diabetes who use insulin. It is used when the patient becomes unconscious due to very low blood sugar (severe hypoglycaemia) and cannot take sugar by mouth.

    Avoid consumption of alcohol while receiving GLUCAGEN HYPOKIT 1MG INJECTION as it may lower your blood sugar levels. GLUCAGEN HYPOKIT 1MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with tumour in the adrenal gland. GLUCAGEN HYPOKIT 1MG INJECTION should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Contact your doctor before receiving it.

    GLUCAGEN HYPOKIT 1MG INJECTION should be used with caution in children and elderly patients (aged 65 years and above). The most common side effects of receiving GLUCAGEN HYPOKIT 1MG INJECTION is nausea. Inform your physician if the side effect worsens or if you experience any unusual effects.

    • To manage severe hypoglycaemic reactions (which may occur in the management of insulin managed children and adults with diabetes mellitus)

    GLUCAGEN HYPOKIT 1MG INJECTION works by activating hepatic glucagon receptors and increases blood glucose concentration by converting the glycogen into glucose (sugar) in liver, which then released into the blood stream and increases the blood sugar levels.

    How to use GLUCAGEN HYPOKIT 1MG INJECTION

    GLUCAGEN HYPOKIT 1MG INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or nurse under the skin (subcutaneously) or into a muscle (intramuscularly). Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Nausea And Vomiting

    Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily, fried or spicy foods. Do not lie down or sleep immediately after eating. Inform your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

    Stomach Pain

    Try to take rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller and frequent meals. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, inform your doctor.

    • have tumour in adrenal gland

    • been fasting for long time
    • low levels of adrenaline
    • tumour that releases glucagon or insulin

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before receiving GLUCAGEN HYPOKIT 1MG INJECTION inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:  

    • insulin (used to manage diabetes)
    • indomethacin (used to manage joint pain and stiffness)
    • warfarin (used to manage or manage blood clots)
    • beta-blockers such as atenolol and metoprolol (used to manage high blood pressure)

    Overdosage:

    GLUCAGEN HYPOKIT 1MG INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital, and so it is unlikely to receive an overdose. However, consult your doctor or nurse if you experience any unusual symptoms like nausea or vomiting.
