Introduction About GEMTIDE 750MCG INJECTION
GEMTIDE 750MCG INJECTION is used in both men and postmenopausal women with Osteoporosis who are at high risk for having fractures. It contains Teriparatide which belongs to the group of medicines called Anabolic agents. GEMTIDE 750MCG INJECTION works by causing the body to build new bone by increasing bone strength and bone mass density (BMD) (thickness) and reduce the risk of fractures by stimulating bone formation.
It also increases the thickness of bone and rebuilds bones which reduces the risk of spine and hip fractures. GEMTIDE 750MCG INJECTION is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women. GEMTIDE 750MCG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with Paget’s disease, bone cancer or other cancers, certain bone diseases and hypercalcemia.
The most common side effects of GEMTIDE 750MCG INJECTION are dizziness, leg cramps, mild headache, tachycardia, hypercalcemia symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, constipation, low energy, or muscle weakness. Consult your doctor if any of the above side effects worsens or persists for a longer duration.

GEMTIDE 750MCG INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse subcutaneously into the thigh or abdominal wall. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition.
Side Effects Of GEMTIDE 750MCG INJECTION
Common
- dizziness
- leg cramps
- mild headache
- tachycardia
- hypercalcemia symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, constipation, low energy, or muscle weakness
How To Manage Side Effects

Constipation
Try to eat more high-fiber foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables, cereals and drink plenty of water. If this does not help, inform your doctor for receiving alternate management for constipation.

Dizziness Or Drowsiness
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating machinery if you feel dizziness. Avoid alcohol consumption as it aggravates dizziness. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

Headache
Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.

Nausea And Vomiting
Try and take the medicine with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if your symptom gets worse.

Others
GEMTIDE 750MCG INJECTION is not recommended for use if you:
- have Paget’s disease of the bone
- have unexplained high levels of alkaline phosphatase in blood
- have ever been diagnosed with bone cancer or other cancers that have spread (metastasized) in bones
- have or had radiation therapy involving in bones
- have certain bone diseases
- have too much calcium in blood (hypercalcemia)
