Introduction About GEMER DAPA 5/1/500 TABLET

Gemer Dapa Tablet is an anti-diabetic medication used for managing Type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, in conjunction with diet and exercise. Helps control blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Reduces risk of diabetes-related complications such as kidney damage, nerve problems, heart disease and blindness. Supports overall diabetes management alongside diet and exercise

The active ingredient of Gemer Dapa Tablet is Dapagliflozin, Glimepiride and Metformin. This combination supports overall glycemic management.

Gemer Dapa Tablet should be taken exactly as prescribed, preferably with food to improve gastrointestinal tolerability and support consistent medication use. The tablet should be swallowed whole with water and taken at the same time each day. Patients are advised to maintain adequate hydration, follow dietary recommendations, and monitor blood glucose levels as directed. Regular assessment of kidney function, blood sugar control, and overall health status may be recommended during therapy.

How to use GEMER DAPA 5/1/500 TABLET

• Take Gemer Dapa Tablet exactly as prescribed by your healthcare professional.
• Usually taken once daily or as directed by your doctor. Preferably take the tablet at the same time each day.
• Take the tablet with food to reduce stomach-related discomfort.
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet unless advised by your healthcare professional.
• Continue following your recommended diet and exercise plan.Monitor blood glucose levels regularly as advised by your healthcare professional.
• Maintain adequate hydration, as dapagliflozin increases glucose elimination through urine.
• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Skip the missed dose if the next scheduled dose is near. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
• Attend regular follow-up appointments for monitoring of blood glucose, HbA1c, and kidney function.

Overdose

Dapagliflozin

In the event of an overdose, contact the physician. The removal of dapagliflozin by hemodialysis has not been studied.

Metformin Hydrochloride

Overdose of metformin hydrochloride has occurred, including ingestion of amounts >50 grams. Lactic acidosis has been reported in approximately 32% of  metformin overdose cases. Metformin is dialyzable with a clearance of up to 170 ml/min under good hemodynamic conditions. Therefore, hemodialysis may be useful for removal of accumulated drug from patients in whom metformin overdosage is suspected.

Glimepiride

An overdosage of glimepiride, as with other sulfonylureas, can produce severe hypoglycemia. Mild episodes of hypoglycemia can be managed with oral glucose.

Severe hypoglycemic reactions constitute medical emergencies requiring immediate management. Severe hypoglycemia with coma, seizure, or neurological impairment can be managed with glucagon or intravenous glucose. Continued observation and additional carbohydrate intake may be necessary because hypoglycemia may recur after apparent clinical recovery.
