Introduction About GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS
GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS is a combination of Gatifloxacin and Ketorolac which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics and Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) respectively. It is used to manage eye inflammation and/or infection following eye surgery.
GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS is for ophthalmic use only. Instil few drops of the medicine into the affected eye(s). Do not touch the tip of the dropper with your eye or other body surface to avoid contamination. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove the lens before applying GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS and wait for at least 15 minutes before reinsertion.
Before using GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS inform your doctor if you have diabetes, arthritis or bleeding problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have any eye infections as a precaution.
GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in pregnant women and in breastfeeding women unless considered necessary by the physician. The most common side effects of using GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS are blurred vision, eye irritation or burning sensation. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.

How GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS Works
GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS contains two medicines namely gatifloxacin and ketorolac. Gatifloxacin is an antibacterial agent. When applied topically on the eyes, it kills the susceptible bacteria that causes eye infection.
Ketorolac is a pain-relieving medicine. It blocks the release of certain chemicals in the body (such as prostaglandins) that causes eye pain, inflammation and swelling. Collectively, they act together and manages eye pain, inflammation and/or infection that can occur following eye surgeries.
How to use GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS
Use GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS as advised by your physician. It is for ophthalmic use only.
Wash your hands before application. Tilt your head slightly backwards and place the tip of the container close to your eyes. Gently pull your lower eyelid and instil few drops of the medicine as directed by your physician.
Close your eyes and gently press the inner corner of your eye for 2 minutes. Repeat the same for the other eye if required.
Do not touch the tip of the container with your eyes, eyelids or areas around your eyes or fingers, to avoid contamination. Apply applying GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS, leave a time gap of at least 5 minutes before applying other eye drops or ointment.
If you wear soft contact lenses, remove the lens before applying GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS and wait for at least 15 minutes before reinsertion. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and health condition.

How To Manage Side Effects
Burning or stinging of eyes:
Wash your eyes with plain cold water. Place an ice pack on your eye to ease the irritation. Avoid straining your eyes by looking at mobile phones, laptops or television. Wear protective eyeglasses while going outdoors.
Headache:
Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.
Blurred vision:
Close your eyes and relax. Do not strain your eyes by looking at mobile phones, laptops, or television. Avoid driving or operating any heavy tools or machines while your vision is blur. Consult your doctor if you experience blurred vision for a prolonged period.

Pregnancy
GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless considered necessary by the physician. Therefore, inform your doctor before using it.

Breastfeeding
GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless considered necessary by the physician. Therefore, inform your doctor before using it.

Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or operate any machines if you experience blurred vision after using GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS. Wait, until your vision becomes clear.

Allergy
Do not use GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS if you are allergic to Gatifloxacin, Ketorolac or to any other NSAIDs (such as aspirin).

Lungs
GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS should be used with caution in patients who previously developed asthma while using any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Therefore, consult your doctor before application.
Others
Before using GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS inform your doctor if you currently have or previously had:
- any bacterial or viral infections in the eye
- bleeding problems
- diabetes
- rheumatoid arthritis (joint pain)
- dry eye syndrome
- repeated eye surgery within a short period of time
Use in pediatrics:
GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS is generally not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). Therefore, consult your doctor before application.
Use in geriatrics:
GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above). Therefore, consult your doctor before application.
Interactions

Before using GATILOX PLUS EYE DROPS, inform your doctor if you are taking any medicines including prescription medicines, non-prescription medicines and herbal medicines.
Overdosage:
