    Introduction About FULTERM 5MG TABLET

    FULTERM 5MG TABLET contains Allylestrenol which belongs to group of medicines called Progestogens. It is used to manage intrauterine growth retardation (growth of the foetus is lesser than its normal growth rate), threatened abortion (vaginal bleeding at less than 20 weeks of gestation), and threatened premature delivery (onset of labor between 24 and 37 weeks of pregnancy) in affected women.

    FULTERM 5MG TABLET is also used to manage habitual abortion. Habitual abortion is a condition that occurs due to sequential loss of three or more pre-viable pregnancies in affected women which is generally characterized by symptoms such as crampy pelvic pain, and bleeding.

    FULTERM 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with thrombophlebitis (blood clot in vein), undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, incomplete abortion, stroke, and/or severe hepatic impairment.

    Before taking FULTERM 5MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have lung, kidney, or heart disease, epilepsy, seizures, or migraine.

    FULTERM 5MG TABLET can be taken during pregnancy. Consult with your doctor before taking. FULTERM 5MG TABLET should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. This medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 16 years of age). Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    The most common side effects of taking FULTERM 5MG TABLET are nausea, vomiting or stomach discomfort. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.

    How FULTERM 5MG TABLET Works

    FULTERM 5MG TABLET works by promoting the attachment of embryo to the lining of the womb which also improves blood flow to the placenta thus relaxing the uterus muscles and managing the occurrence of premature labor in affected women.

    How to use FULTERM 5MG TABLET

    Take FULTERM 5MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Nausea:

    Take this medicine with or after meals. Stick to simple meals while taking this medicine. Do not take any medication on your own. Ask for your doctor’s advice if the nausea doesn’t improve.

    Vomiting:

    Drink clear or ice-cold drinks. Eat light, bland foods and avoid fried, oily, or sweet foods. Avoid carbonated drinks. Ask for your doctor’s advice if vomiting doesn’t improve.

    Warning & Precautions

    Pregnancy

    FULTERM 5MG TABLET is generally recommended for use in pregnant women and should be discontinued after delivery. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Breastfeeding

    FULTERM 5MG TABLET should be used with caution in breastfeeding women as it may affect the child. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Kidney

    FULTERM 5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney diseases such as renal dysfunction. Consult your doctor before taking.

    Liver

    FULTERM 5MG TABLET is not recommended in patients with severe hepatic impairment. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Allergy

    Do not take FULTERM 5MG TABLET if you are allergic to Allylestrenol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

    Lungs

    FULTERM 5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with lung diseases such as asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Consult your doctor before taking.

    Heart Disease

    FULTERM 5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with heart diseases such as congestive heart failure, sick sinus syndrome, and coronary artery disease. Consult your doctor before taking.

    Others

    FULTERM 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

    • have thrombophlebitis (blood clot in vein)
    • have undiagnosed vaginal bleeding
    • have incomplete abortion
    • have hormone-dependent carcinoma
    • have stroke
    • plan it as a diagnostic test for pregnancy

    Before taking FULTERM 5MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you:

    • have migraine headaches
    • suffer from seizures (epilepsy)

    Use in Pediatrics:

    FULTERM 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below the age of 16 years). Consult your doctor before taking.

    Use in Geriatrics:

    There is no information on the use of FULTERM 5MG TABLET in elderly patients. Consult with your doctor before taking.

    Interactions

    A. Drug - Drug interactions:

    Before taking FULTERM 5MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking, have taken, or might take any other medicine, including prescription, non-prescription or any herbal medicine.

    Over dosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of FULTERM 5MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose include unusual drowsiness, rapid pulse, fainting, unusual muscle movement or rigidity of the face, neck or limbs, seizures and loss of consciousness.

    Yes, FULTERM 5MG TABLET may cause stomach discomfort as it is a common side effect associated with the use of medicine.
