    Introduction About FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET

    FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET contains Mifepristone which belongs to the group of medicines called Progestin antagonist. It is used as an emergency contraceptive to manage pregnancy in women after an unprotected sexual intercourse. It should be used within 120 hours following sexual intercourse to achieve better birth control.

    While taking FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET avoid consuming grapefruit juice as it may make FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET less effective. FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET should only be used during emergency situations and therefore should not replace a regular contraceptive.

    Before taking FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have any heart problems, blood problems or bleeding disorders. You must also inform your doctor if you have blood clots, anemia, or any nutritional deficiencies.

    Do not take FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET if you have severe asthma, severe liver or kidney problems or adrenal failure without consulting your doctor.

    FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET is intended for use as a contraceptive agent. Therefore, it should not be used in women who are pregnant or planning to conceive a child. It is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women and in female children who have not attained their puberty.

    The most common side effects of taking FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET are heavy vaginal bleeding, delayed periods, tiredness and stomach cramps. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.

    FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET is a contraceptive medicine. It works by blocking the actions of a female sex hormone called progesterone which is responsible for sustaining pregnancy. This causes shedding of the uterine layers which makes it more difficult for the foetus to implant and grow and therefore manages pregnancy.

    How to use FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET

    Take FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

    Your doctor will decide the correct dose, duration of therapy and frequency of administration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET

    Common

    • delayed periods
    • heavy vaginal bleeding
    • nausea, vomiting
    • diarrhoea
    • lower abdominal pain or cramps
    • tiredness

    • headache, dizziness

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Nausea and vomiting:

    Try to take FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if nausea worsens.

    Diarrhea:

    Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to manage diarrhea. Consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

    Dizziness:

    Rest and get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines if you feel dizzy. Limit your alcohol consumption as it may aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if dizziness worsens.

    Pregnancy

    FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET is indicated as a contraceptive agent (birth control pill). Therefore, it should not be used in women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. However, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Breastfeeding

    FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET is generally not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass to the nursing infant through the breast milk. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Driving and Using Machines

    Do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if you experience headache or dizziness after taking FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET.

    Kidney

    FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with kidney diseases (such as kidney failure). Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Liver

    FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with liver disease (such liver failure). Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Allergy

    Do not take FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET if you are allergic to mifepristone or to any other ingredients of this medicine.

    Lungs

    FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe uncontrollable asthma. It should be used with caution in patients with other respiratory conditions (such as mild asthma or chronic obstructive airway diseases). Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Heart Disease

    FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with heart problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Others

    FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

    • suffer from chronic adrenal failure (hormone deficiency caused due to problems in adrenal gland)
    • have porphyria (an inherited blood disorder)
    • are malnourished
    • have sugar intolerance (such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency)

    Before taking FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you:

    • have any bleeding disorders
    • have blood clots or problem in your blood vessels
    • have anaemia

    Use in Paediatrics:

    FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET should be used in post pubertal female children (aged between 14-18 years) only if prescribed by the physician. It is not intended for use in male children and should not be used in female children who have not attained their puberty. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Use in Geriatrics:

    FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET should be used with caution in the elderly patients. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Interactions

    A. Drug - Drug interactions:

    Before taking FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines such as:

    • ketoconazole, itraconazole (medicines used in the management of fungal infections)
    • erythromycin (a medicine used to manage bacterial infection)
    • rifampin (a medicine used to manage tuberculosis)
    • dexamethasone (a steroid medicine used to manage asthma, allergies, pain or autoimmune diseases)
    • anticonvulsants (used to manage fits or seizures) Ex. phenytoin, phenobarbital, carbamazepine
    • non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (used for pain relief) Ex. aspirin, diclofenac, paracetamol
    • anticoagulants (used for blood thinning) Ex. warfarin, heparin
    • corticosteroids (used to provide relief from pain and inflammation) Ex. prednisone, methylprednisolone

    B. Drug - Food interaction:

    Do not drink grapefruit juice while taking FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET as it may reduce the effectiveness of FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET. Consult your doctor for advice.

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally took more FIBROEASE 10MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
