FERITONE CAPSULE is a combination of Folic acid and Iron, which belongs to the group of medicines called Haematinics. It is used to manage anaemia (deficiency of iron and haemoglobin). Anaemia is a condition that occurs when the number of healthy red blood cells in your body is too low.
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking this medicine. FERITONE CAPSULE is not recommended for use if you have hemosiderosis, hemochromatosis (iron overload), hemolytic anaemias, gastrointestinal ulcers, or are receiving repeated blood transfusions.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have or had epilepsy, cirrhosis or other liver disease, kidney disease (or if you are on dialysis), hemolytic anemia, pernicious anemia, anemia that has not been diagnosed by a doctor and confirmed with laboratory testing, an infection, or alcoholism.
FERITONE CAPSULE should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women. FERITONE CAPSULE is not recommended for use in children below 6 years of age and below 22 kg. The most common side effects of FERITONE CAPSULE are nausea, vomiting, dark stools, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms bother you.

How to use FERITONE CAPSULE
Always take FERITONE CAPSULE as directed by your physician.
Tablet/Capsule: Swallow the medicine as a whole and do not crush or chew the medicine.
Chewable Tablet: Chew the medicine well before swallowing.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition.

How To Manage Side Effects
Constipation
Eat plenty of fiber-rich foods, such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and cereals, and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly. Consult your doctor if the constipation doesn't improve.
Diarrhea
Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice, to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor. Consult your doctor if diarrhea worsens.
Nausea And Vomiting
Stay hydrated with small sips of clear fluids like water, ginger ale, or electrolyte solutions. Avoid consuming large meals; instead, opt for bland, easy-to-digest foods. Ginger, peppermint, or chamomile tea may help soothe the stomach. Rest in a comfortable position, preferably with your head elevated, to ease symptoms. Consult your doctor if nausea and vomiting persist.
Stomach Pain
Try to rest and relax. You can eat and drink slowly or have frequent meals. Keeping a heat pad on your stomach may also help. If pain persists, speak to your doctor.

- Medicines containing zinc, calcium, or magnesium salts
- Medicines used for thyroid gland problems (Ex. levothyroxine)
- Medicines used to manage ‘Parkinson’s disease’ (Ex. levodopa, entacapone)
- Medicines used for an increase in blood pressure (Ex. methyldopa)
- Antacids used to manage indigestion (Ex. calcium carbonate)
- Medicines used in the management of rheumatoid arthritis (Ex. penicillamine)
- Medicines used to reduce cholesterol and fats in the blood (Ex. cholestyramine)
- Medicines for bone diseases (Ex. bisphosphonates)
- Medicines used for high copper levels in blood (Ex. trientine)
