Introduction About EXKOF SYRUP
EXKOF SYRUP contains Ambroxol, Guaiphenesin, Terbutaline, and Menthol, which belong to the group of medicines called Mucolytics, Expectorants, Bronchodilators, and Cooling agents, respectively. It is used to manage productive cough associated with bronchospasm, bronchitis, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchiectasis, and chest congestion.
Before starting management with EXKOF SYRUP, your doctor might want you to take some diagnostic tests.
EXKOF SYRUP should be used with caution in patients with liver, kidney, and heart diseases, high blood pressure, uncontrolled diabetes, hyperthyroidism, seizures (fits), and a history of stomach ulcers.

How EXKOF SYRUP Works
EXKOF SYRUP is a combination of ambroxol, guaiphenesin, terbutaline, and menthol, where ambroxol is a mucolytic agent that thins and loosens the mucus (phlegm) and makes it easier to cough out. Guaiphenesin is an expectorant that decreases the stickiness of secretions present in the airways, thins the mucous, and helps in their removal from the airways. Menthol is an organic compound (cooling agent) that produces a sensation of coolness by stimulating the cold receptors and relieves minor throat irritation. Terbutaline belongs to the bronchodilator, which relaxes the muscles in the airways and results in the widening of the airways. Together, they make breathing easier and eliminate coughing.

- Diuretics such as chlorthalidone (used to get rid of water and sodium from the body)
- Monoamine oxidase inhibitors such as isocarboxazid, tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline, nortriptyline (used to manage depression)
