    Introduction About ETILAAM S TABLET

    ETILAAM S TABLET is a combination of Escitalopram and Etizolam which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidepressants and Anxiolytics respectively. It is used to manage depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, major depressive episodes, panic disorder, anxiety disorder and insomnia.

    ETILAAM S TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with myasthenia gravis, acute angle-closure glaucoma, sleep disorder and porphyria. Contact your doctor before taking. Before taking ETILAAM S TABLET inform your doctor if you have lung, liver or kidney disease or heart disease. Contact your doctor before taking. ETILAAM S TABLET is not recommended in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Contact your doctor before taking.

    Your doctor will prescribe the right dose depends on your child’s age, body weight and disease condition. Contact your doctor before taking. ETILAAM S TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients aged 65 years or above. Contact your doctor before taking. The most common side effects of this medicine are confusion, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, memory impairment, drowsiness and tiredness. Contact your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

    Uses Of ETILAAM S TABLET

    It is used to manage:

    • depression
    • obsessive-compulsive disorder
    • major depressive episodes
    • panic disorder
    • anxiety disorder and
    • insomnia

    How ETILAAM S TABLET Works

    ETILAAM S TABLET is a combination of Escitalopram and Etizolam. Escitalopram increases the levels of serotonin, a chemical messenger that improves mood. Etizolam increases the action of GABA, a chemical messenger that suppresses the abnormal activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

    How to use ETILAAM S TABLET

    Take ETILAAM S TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow this medicine as whole with a glass of water and do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the right dose depends on your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of ETILAAM S TABLET

    Common

    • confusion
    • nausea, vomiting
    • diarrhea
    • memory impairment
    • drowsiness
    • tiredness
    • decreased orgasm
    • low sexual desire

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Diarrhea

    Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juices to keep you hydrated. Do not take any medicine on your own for managing diarrhoea. Contact your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

    Dizziness Or Drowsiness

    Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operate any machines while you are feeling drowsy. Contact your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

    Nausea And Vomiting

    Take this medicine with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods.

    ETILAAM S TABLET is not recommended in pregnant women. Contact your doctor before taking.

    Breastfeeding

    ETILAAM S TABLET is not recommended during breastfeeding. Contact your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Driving and Using Machines

    Use with Caution

    Patients should be used with caution about operating, hazardous machines including automobiles. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness, lack of attentiveness, concentration or ability of reflexive motion, consult your doctor for advice.

    Alcohol

    Contraindicated

    Consumption of alcohol is not recommended while taking ETILAAM S TABLET. Consult your doctor for advice.

    Kidney

    Use with Caution

    ETILAAM S TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney function. Contact your doctor before taking.

    Liver

    Contraindicated

    ETILAAM S TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with liver impairment. Contact your doctor before taking.

    Allergy

    Contraindicated

    Do not take ETILAAM S TABLET if you are allergic to Escitalopram, Etizolam or to any other ingredients of this medicine.

    Lungs

    Consult your doctor

    ETILAAM S TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe respiratory failure. It should be used with caution in patients with history of lung insufficiency. Contact your doctor before taking.

    Heart Disease

    Use with Caution

    ETILAAM S TABLET should be used with caution in patients with recent history of myocardial infarction or unstable heart disease. Contact your doctor before taking.           

    Use In Pediatrics

    Use In Geriatrics

    Use with Caution

    Others

    ETILAAM S TABLET is not recommended for use if you have:

    • myasthenia gravis

    • have a history of seizure disorder
    • have a history of mania

    Interactions

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before taking ETILAAM S TABLET inform your physician if you are taking the following medicine:

    • monoamine oxidase inhibitor, lithium (used to manage depression)
    • triptans, sumatriptan (used to manage migraine)
    • CNS depressants phenothiazines, barbiturates
    • NSAIDS, aspirin (used to relieve pain)
    • warfarin (manages blood clot)
    • cimetidine (used to manage ulcers)
    • digoxin (used to manage heart problems)
    • pimozide (manages psychotic disorders)
    • theophylline (manages breathing conditions)
    • carbamazepine (used to manage seizures)
    • triazolam (used to manage insomnia)
    • ketoconazole (used to manage fungal infections)
    • ritonavir (used to manage HIV infection)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally took too much of this medicine, consult your doctor immediately. Symptoms of overdose are convulsions, dizziness, hypotension, insomnia, nausea, vomiting, somnolence, and ECG changes.
