    Introduction About ERDOSTYNE 300MG CAPSULE

    ERDOSTYNE 300MG CAPSULE is used to manage the symptoms associated with short, severe episodes of worsening of chronic bronchitis. It contains Erdosteine which belongs to the group of medicines known as Mucolytic agents which acts on the phlegm (mucus) in the respiratory tract or airways.

    ERDOSTYNE 300MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients having severe liver problems, kidney impairment or stomach ulcer. ERDOSTYNE 300MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    ERDOSTYNE 300MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age. The most common side effect of taking ERDOSTYNE 300MG CAPSULE is epigastric pain. Consult your doctor if the above side effects persists for a longer duration.

    How ERDOSTYNE 300MG CAPSULE Works

    ERDOSTYNE 300MG CAPSULE contains Erdosteine which is a mucolytic drug. It is a prodrug and it becomes active after metabolism which acts by reducing the viscosity of mucus. In addition, it has a significant antioxidant action and it inhibits bacterial adhesion to epithelial cells.

    How to use ERDOSTYNE 300MG CAPSULE

    Take ERDOSTYNE 300MG CAPSULE as advised by your physician. Swallow this medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of ERDOSTYNE 300MG CAPSULE for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of ERDOSTYNE 300MG CAPSULE

    Common

    • epigastric pain

    Uncommon

    • headache
    • cold and difficulty in breathing and taste
    • alterations, nausea, vomiting
    • diarrhoea
    • swelling of the blood vessels below the skin, mucosal tissues due to allergic reaction (angioedema)
    • itching and redness of the skin
    • oedema
    • eczema

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Bloating

    Apply a heating pad on your stomach for 15 to 20 minutes. Avoid lying flat. Try to rest and relax and have smaller and frequent meals. If the symptom does not improve, consult your doctor for advice.

    Allergy
