Introduction About ENZYL 80MG CAPSULE

Enzyl 80mg Capsule contains Enzalutamide, an androgen receptor inhibitor prescribed for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. It is primarily used in men with castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC), including those whose cancer has spread to other parts of the body despite medical or surgical treatments that lower testosterone levels. By blocking the action of male hormones (androgens) that promote prostate cancer growth, Enzyl 80mg helps slow disease progression and may improve treatment outcomes when used under the supervision of an oncologist. Enzalutamide is an established treatment option for specific types of advanced prostate cancer and is recommended only on a healthcare provider's prescription.  

Enzyl 80mg is intended for adult male patients with advanced prostate cancer, including those who have previously received docetaxel chemotherapy, or as advised by their treating oncologist based on the stage and type of disease. It should be taken once daily, at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow the capsule whole with water, and do not crush, chew, split, or open it. Continue taking the medicine exactly as prescribed and do not stop treatment without consulting your doctor, even if you feel well, as uninterrupted therapy is important for effective disease management.  

Patients taking Enzyl 80mg should follow all instructions provided by their healthcare provider and attend regular follow-up appointments. The medicine may increase the risk of seizures, dizziness, falls, and neurological or psychiatric events, so caution is advised while driving or operating machinery until its effects are known. Inform your doctor about any history of seizures, liver disease, heart disease, or other medical conditions, as well as all medicines you are taking to help avoid potential drug interactions. In case of a missed dose, take it as soon as remembered on the same day; however, do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

Enzyl 80mg is not intended for use in women and is contraindicated during pregnancy, as it may cause fetal harm. It should also not be used during breastfeeding. Men with partners who are pregnant or may become pregnant should follow their doctor's advice regarding effective contraception during treatment and for the recommended period after the last dose. The most commonly reported side effects include fatigue, weakness, hot flashes, back pain, joint or muscle pain, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, swelling of the limbs, insomnia, high blood pressure, and decreased appetite. How to use ENZYL 80MG CAPSULE

Take Enzyl 80mg Capsule Exactly as Prescribed

What if I forgot to take ENZYL 80MG CAPSULE

Overdose

An overdose of Enzyl 80mg Capsule (Enzalutamide) may increase the risk of serious adverse effects, particularly seizures. There is no specific antidote for enzalutamide overdose. In the event of an overdose, discontinue the medicine and seek immediate medical attention. Treatment is mainly supportive and based on the patient's clinical condition, taking into account the medicine's prolonged half-life. Patients should be closely monitored until symptoms improve, and appropriate supportive measures should be provided as needed.

How To Manage Side Effects

Diarrhea

• Drink Fluids: Drink clear fluids such as water, broths, and oral rehydration solutions (ORS).
• Electrolytes: If you're losing a lot of fluids (for example, from frequent diarrhea), consider drinking an electrolyte solution to help replenish lost minerals like potassium and sodium.
• BRAT Diet: Try to take Bananas, Rice (white rice), Apple sauce and Toast (plain, without butter) to control diarrhoea management.
• Avoid Certain Foods: While recovering avoid the following food items such as fatty, greasy, or fried foods, spicy foods, dairy products (especially if you have a temporary lactose intolerance), caffeinated drinks and alcohol and artificial sweeteners like sorbitol.
• Over-the-Counter Medications: You can take over-the-counter anti-diarrheal medications such as loperamide, Bismuth subsalicylate if appropriate for you. Follow the recommended dosage.

Headache

• Rest in a Quiet, Dark Room: Find a calm, quiet space away from bright lights and loud noises. Lie down and close your eyes.
• Hydrate: Dehydration can contribute to headaches, so drink plenty of water.
• Apply a Cold or Warm Compress: A cold pack on your forehead may reduce pain, or a warm compress on your neck or shoulders can relieve tension.
• Over-the-Counter Pain Relief: You can take over-the-counter pain relievers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen if appropriate for you. Follow the recommended dosage.
• Practice Relaxation Techniques: Deep breathing exercises, meditation, or gentle stretching can help reduce stress and alleviate headache symptoms.

1. Enzyl 80mg Capsule vs Conventional Hormonal Therapy

Drug - Drug interaction

1. Warfarin and Other Anticoagulants

• Interaction: Enzalutamide may reduce the blood levels and effectiveness of warfarin by increasing its metabolism, which may affect anticoagulation.
• Management: Monitor INR regularly and adjust the anticoagulant dose if required. Inform your doctor if you notice unusual bleeding or signs of blood clots.

2. Midazolam, Alprazolam, and Other CYP3A4 Substrates
