    Introduction About ENZICTRA DS TABLET

    ENZICTRA DS TABLET contains Bromelain, Papain, Rutoside, and Trypsin which belongs to the group of medicines called Plant derivatives, and Proteolytic enzyme. It is used in the management of inflammation associated with conditions like post-operative (wound after any surgical procedures which is characterised by pain and redness), and traumatic or injury conditions, rheumatic & degenerative conditions like osteoarthritis, and osteoporosis, strain, sprains, and sports injury, low back pain, and spondylopathies. Arthritis is the tenderness or swelling of one or more joints characterized by pain, stiffness, and reduced movements.

    ENZICTRA DS TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having liver, and kidney problems and any scheduled surgery. ENZICTRA DS TABLET should be used with caution in patients having asthma. ENZICTRA DS TABLET is not recommended for use during pregnancy and it should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. ENZICTRA DS TABLET is generally not recommended for use in children who are at the age of breastfeeding.

    The safety and efficacy of ENZICTRA DS TABLET have not been establishes in children below 18 years of age. The most common side effects of taking ENZICTRA DS TABLET are a burning sensation and constipation. Consult your doctor for advice if any of these worsen or don’t improve.

    How ENZICTRA DS TABLET Works

    ENZICTRA DS TABLET helps in managing inflammation associated with various conditions where Bromelain works by inhibiting the substances like prostaglandins, bradykinin and proinflammatory cytokines which are responsible for causing inflammation and thereby speed up the wound healing process.

    Papain with its anti-inflammatory effect reduces fluid retention and swelling. Trypsin resolves the signs and symptoms of inflammation by removing the dead tissue cells at the site of trauma and helps in the formation of new tissue or skin growth. Rutoside is an antioxidant, it also restores the strength of blood vessel wall which decrease their ability to break down.

    How to use ENZICTRA DS TABLET

    Take ENZICTRA DS TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine as a whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of ENZICTRA DS TABLET for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before taking ENZICTRA DS TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • medicines used to manage clotting of blood (Ex. heparin, warfarin, clopidogrel)
    • Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen, naproxen and opioids like codeine (used to reduce pain)
    • antibiotics like tetracycline, and amoxicillin (used to manage infections)
    • chemotherapy drugs like 5-fluorouracil, vincristine (used in cancer management)
    • ACE inhibitors like captopril, and lisinopril (used to maintain blood pressure)
    • lorazepam, benzodiazepines like diazepam (medicines used to induce sleep)
    • antidepressants like doxepin (used to reduce depression)
    • barbiturates like phenobarbital (used to manage epilepsy or fits)

    B. Drug - Food interaction:

    Do not take ENZICTRA DS TABLET if you are allergic to foods like pineapple, wheat, celery, fennel, carrot, grass pollen or cypress pollen. Consult your doctor before taking ENZICTRA DS TABLET.

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of ENZICTRA DS TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
