ENTROFURAN M 100/300MG CAPSULE is a combination of Furazolidone and Metronidazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Antimicrobial agents. It is used to manage diarrhea and dysentery caused due to various bacterial and protozoal infections affecting the gut such as amoebiasis, colitis, cholera, bacteremic salmonellosis or giardiasis (beaver fever causing stomach cramps, bloating and watery diarrhea).
It can also be used to manage infections of the blood, brain, bones, teeth and genital areas. It also helps in managing gum inflammation, leg ulcers and pressure sores and manages post-surgical infections.
Take ENTROFURAN M 100/300MG CAPSULE for the stipulated duration as instructed by the doctor to achieve better results. Failing to complete the full course of the therapy or skipping doses in between the therapy may not result in adequate infection control.

ENTROFURAN M 100/300MG CAPSULE is an antimicrobial medication. It kills the susceptible microorganism by breaking down their genetic material (DNA). As a result, it reduces the severity of the infection and manages them from spreading further.
How to use ENTROFURAN M 100/300MG CAPSULE
Take ENTROFURAN M 100/300MG CAPSULE as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. It is preferably taken with or just after meals.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of the infection.

- severe skin reactions (such as widespread skin rash, blistering, peeling or bleeding on any part of the skin with fever, chills, enlarged lymph nodes and malaise or pink or reddish skin lesions on palms or soles)
- stomach pain, lack of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fever, tiredness, weakness, yellowing of skin and eyes, dark urine, pale stools, skin itchiness
- signs of brain disease (such as fever, neck stiffness, headache, hallucinations, muscle stiffness, problems in speech, confusion)
- signs of low blood count (such as unexpected infections, mouth ulcers, bruising, bleeding gums, or severe tiredness)
- severe stomach pain which may reach radiate to your back (pancreatitis)
How To Manage Side Effects
Nausea or vomiting:
Take ENTROFURAN M 100/300MG CAPSULE with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods. Please consult your doctor immediately if you experience severe nausea and vomiting.
Headache:
Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.

A. Drug - Drug interactions:

- medicines used for blood thinning (such as warfarin)
- lithium (a medicine used to manage mental illnesses)
- medicines used to manage epilepsy (such as phenytoin, primidone, phenobarbital)
- busulfan, 5-fluorouracil (medicines used to manage cancer)
- ciclosporin (a medicine used to manage graft rejection)
- disulfiram (a medicine used to quit alcoholism)
- medicines used to manage depression (such as moclobemide, phenelzine, isocarboxazid, amitriptyline, imipramine, fluoxetine, sertraline)
- amphetamines (medicines that can stimulate the brain) Ex. methamphetamine
- ephedrine or phenylephrine (medicine used for cough)
B. Drug - Food interaction:
Avoid taking food rich in tyramine (such as aged cheese, beer, alcohol-free beer and wine, red and white wine, yeast or protein extracts, fava or broad bean pods, smoked or pickled meat, poultry, fish, fermented sausage or other fermented meat and any overripe fruit) for at least 2 weeks while undergoing therapy with this medicine.
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally took more ENTROFURAN M 100/300MG CAPSULE, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
