Electral Powder Orange Flavour Sachet is an ORS rehydration sachet used to restore body fluids and electrolytes lost due to rehydration. It contains Sodium chloride, Potassium chloride, Sodium citrate and Dextrose which are important to maintain normal fluid balance in the body.
The major component of ORS is glucose or dextrose. It makes the small intestine more capable of absorbing water and salt. It is necessary to restore these critical ions with sodium chloride and potassium chloride when vomiting and diarrhoea occur. When there is too much acid in the body because of diarrhoea, sodium citrate balances it out.
