    Introduction About EASYSIX INJECTIONPFS

EASYSIX INJECTIONPFS is a combination of Haemophilus Influenza Type B Conjugate, Inactivated Poliomyelitis Trivalent Vaccine, Purified Diphtheria Toxoid, Purified Tetanus Toxoid, Recombinant Hepatitis B, and Whole Cell Pertussis which belongs to the group of medicines called Vaccines. It is used in infants and children (below 7 years) to manage diseases caused by certain bacteria and viruses such as haemophilus influenzae type B, poliomyelitis, diphtheria, tetanus, hepatitis B, or pertussis.

Haemophilus influenzae type B causes a serious bacterial infection characterised by symptoms such as meningitis (inflammation of membranes covering the brain) or inflammation of the lungs, tissue under the skin, joints, bones, and throat.

Poliomyelitis is a viral disease that generally causes paralysis of the legs. It can be fatal if it affects the muscles that help with breathing and swallowing. Hepatitis B is a viral disease that causes inflammation of the liver tissues. This virus may also cause liver cancer in some patients.

Diphtheria is a bacterial disease that first causes pain and swelling in the throat, which may result in suffocation. It may also cause the production of a toxin in the body that can damage the heart, kidneys, and nerves.

Tetanus is a bacterial infection that develops in penetrating, deep wounds. The disease can be very dangerous because the bacteria may produce a toxin that may trigger the spasms of the back muscles and airway muscles, resulting in breathing difficulties and even suffocation.

Pertussis, or whooping cough, affecting mostly infants and young children, is a bacterial infection that primarily affects the airways. It is characterised by symptoms such as a severe cough with a ‘whoop’ noise that can last even for weeks.

EASYSIX INJECTIONPFS is not recommended for use if your child has previously experienced problems of the nervous system, such as encephalopathy within 7 days following a pertussis vaccination, infection with a high fever (more than 38 °C), an uncontrolled neurologic disorder such as uncontrolled epilepsy, or breathing difficulties, particularly in the children who are prematurely born. EASYSIX INJECTIONPFS is not recommended for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women. EASYSIX INJECTIONPFS is also not recommended for use in children (aged 7 years or above).

The common side effects associated with the use of EASYSIX INJECTIONPFS are pain, tenderness, fever, swelling, redness, irritability, or restlessness. Consult your doctor if any of the conditions worsen.
