Introduction About DOTIN 50 TABLET

DOTIN 50 TABLET is used in the management of major depressive disorder, depression with co-morbid anxiety and pain management. It is also used in the management of anxiety disorder and mostly used to manage depression that is unresponsive to alternative management. It contains Dothiepin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidepressants. DOTIN 50 TABLET works by increasing the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that stabilizes and enhances the mood.

DOTIN 50 TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with heart problems, glaucoma, prostate problems and fits. Before taking DOTIN 50 TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. Avoid consumption of alcohol during management with DOTIN 50 TABLET as it can make the drowsiness worse. It is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

DOTIN 50 TABLET is not recommended for use in neonates and children. The most common side effects are increased heart rate, blurred vision, dryness in the mouth or constipation. Consult with your doctor if any of the side effect worsens.

How to use DOTIN 50 TABLET

Take DOTIN 50 TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. The recommended dosage is twice in a day. It is better to take it before bedtime because it can make you feel drowsy. It can be taken with or without food, but you should take it at a fixed time each day for better efficacy. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

Constipation

Try to eat more high-fiber foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables, cereals, and drink plenty of water. Try doing exercise regularly (going for a daily walk or run). If this does not help, inform your doctor for receiving alternate management for constipation.

Dry Mouth

Sip water regularly and other sugar free liquids. Do not use mouthwashes that contain alcohol because they can make your mouth dry, use mouthwash that is used only for dry mouth. Limit your caffeine intake. Avoid smoking or using tobacco products. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
