    Introduction About DK GEL

    DK GEL contains Miconazole which belongs to the group of medicine called Antifungals agents. It is used to manage fungal and associated bacterial infections of the skin and nails.

    Skin infections may appear on the trunk, hands or feet, scalp or outer ear, groin and include athlete’s foot, dhobie itch and intertrigo. It is also effective against infected nappy rash. It also has moisturising properties to help soothe cracked, red skin.

    Skin infections will usually get better after 2 to 6 weeks. If your condition does not improve after 2 to 6 weeks of management, consult your doctor for advice.

    This medicine can be used for adults and children. Consult your doctor for advice before using this medicine.

    Before using DK GEL tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease or liver problem. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medicine.

    The most common side effects of using DK GEL include burning sensation, irritation, itching, and redness at the site of application. Consult your doctor if any of the above side effects worsen.

    DK GEL works by destroying the fungus that causes the infection and some of the associated bacteria which may also be present.

    Side Effects Of DK GEL

    Common

    • burning sensation, irritation, itching, and redness

    Rare

    • local irritation of the managed area

    Stop using DK GEL and contact your doctor immediately if you experience the following:

    • allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat, difficulty in swallowing or breathing, itchy rash (hives)
    • application site reactions such as skin warmth, skin itchiness, skin inflammation, skin discolouration

    Interactions

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before using DK GEL inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • anticoagulants such as warfarin (used to thin the blood)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally used or ingested more of DK GEL, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
