Introduction About DINACE 2.5MG TABLET
DINACE 2.5MG TABLET contains Procyclidine which belongs to the group of medicines called Anticholinergics. It is used to relieve and manage the signs of Parkinson's disease such as stiff muscles, paralysis, shaking of hands (tremors), trouble talking, writing and walking, producing too much saliva and dribbling, sweating, uncontrolled eye movements and depression.
DINACE 2.5MG TABLET is also used to control extrapyramidal effects caused by certain medicines used to manage mental health conditions, which might include restlessness and unusual head and body movements.
DINACE 2.5MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you have tardive dyskinesia (uncontrolled movements of the head or tongue). Consult your doctor before taking it.
DINACE 2.5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver, kidney disease, high blood pressure, heart disease, glaucoma, thyrotoxicosis. Consult your doctor before taking it.
DINACE 2.5MG TABLET should be used during pregnancy only if it is considered clearly necessary. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding before taking it.
DINACE 2.5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents. DINACE 2.5MG TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients. The most common side effects of taking DINACE 2.5MG TABLET are dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation and difficulty urinating. Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.

How DINACE 2.5MG TABLET Works
DINACE 2.5MG TABLET works by stopping a substance called acetylcholine in the brain and helps to reduce the symptoms of Parkinson's disease such as muscle stiffness, sweating, production of saliva and improves walking ability in people with Parkinson’s disease and also helps to controls Parkinson-like side effects caused by certain medicines used to manage mental health conditions.
How to use DINACE 2.5MG TABLET
Take DINACE 2.5MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Take it with food to reduce nausea. Swallow the medicine with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
Your doctor will decide an appropriate dose and duration depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop taking DINACE 2.5MG TABLET unless your doctor advises you to stop. Otherwise, your symptoms may return.
Side Effects Of DINACE 2.5MG TABLET
Common
- dry mouth
- blurred vision
- constipation
- difficulty urinating
Uncommon
- inflamed gums in the mouth
- nausea, vomiting
Rare
Stop taking DINACE 2.5MG TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- serious allergic reaction such as skin rash, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat or trouble breathing
- mental health condition (unusual thoughts and perceptions, such as hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not real) or delusions (a belief or strong feeling which is not based on real information or experiences)
- nervousness, fast heartbeat
- dizziness, confusion or reduced ability to understand
- reduced memory, disorientation
- feeling anxious or agitated
How To Manage Side Effects
Nausea and vomiting:
Take the medicine, with or just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy food. Contact your doctor if your nausea and vomiting did not improve.
Constipation:
Eat plenty of fiber rich foods like fresh fruits, vegetables, cereals and drink ample amount of water. Exercise more regularly. If you still feel constipated, contact your doctor.
Dry mouth:
Sip water regularly and other sugar free liquids. Do not use alcohol-containing mouthwashes because they can make your mouth dry. Limit your caffeine intake. Avoid smoking or using tobacco products. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not get better.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operate any machines while you are feeling dizzy. Do not drink alcohol, as it can aggravate your dizziness. Contact your doctor if your dizziness did not improve.
Skin rash:
Avoid hot bath because hot water can irritate your skin further. Do not scratch the affected area. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing while going outside. Use unscented moisturizers to soothe and hydrate the affected area. Contact your doctor if the itching worsens.

Pregnancy
DINACE 2.5MG TABLET should be used during pregnancy only if it is considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Breastfeeding
There is no information of DINACE 2.5MG TABLET in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or operate any machines if you have blurred vision, dizziness, confusion or disorientation after taking DINACE 2.5MG TABLET.

Kidney
DINACE 2.5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Liver
DINACE 2.5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Allergy
Do not take DINACE 2.5MG TABLET if you are allergic to Procyclidine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Heart Disease
DINACE 2.5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with high blood pressure or a heart condition. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Others
DINACE 2.5MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you:
- have tardive dyskinesia (uncontrolled movements of the head or tongue)
Before taking DINACE 2.5MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you:
- have intolerance to certain sugars
- have trouble passing urine (urinary retention) due to an enlarged prostate gland
- have an obstructive disease of the stomach or bowels (Ex. pyloric stenosis, paralytic ileus)
- have narrow angle glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye) or family history of glaucoma or have a higher chance to get glaucoma
- have a mental health condition
- have constipation
- have any underlying condition that makes your heart to beat faster (Ex. thyrotoxicosis)
Use in pediatrics:
DINACE 2.5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents. Consult your child’s doctor for advice.
Use in geriatrics:
DINACE 2.5MG TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients. Your doctor might carefully monitor your dose to manage any side effects. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Interactions
A. Drug - Drug interactions:
Before taking DINACE 2.5MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:
- medicines used to manage mental health problems (such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, depression, schizophrenia) Ex. tacrine, memantine, isocarboxazid, phenelzine, paroxetine, amitriptyline, clozapine, donepezil, rivastigmine, chlorpromazine
- nicotine (used to help stop smoking)
- pilocarpine (used to manage dry mouth or glaucoma)
- bethanechol (used to help urinate)
- medicines used to manage nausea, vomiting and indigestion (Ex. cisapride, domperidone and metoclopramide)
- medicines used in Parkinson's disease (Ex. amantadine, levodopa)
- medicines used for heart complaints (Ex. disopyramide, quinidine, nitrate)
- nefopam (used for managing pain)
- ketoconazole (used to manage fungal infections)
- antihistamines (medicines used to relieve allergies) Ex. loratadine, cetirizine
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of DINACE 2.5MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of DINACE 2.5MG TABLET overdose are fast heartbeat, agitation, restlessness, confusion, severe inability to sleep, excitement, feel anxious and aggressive, disorientation, pupils in the eye may not open or close when light is shined on them, hallucinations, feeling very sleepy, fall into unconsciousness or into a coma.

How long can you take DINACE 2.5MG TABLET?
Take DINACE 2.5MG TABLET as advised by your doctor. Generally, it is used for a period of 3 to 4 months of therapy and then your doctor may withdraw this medicine gradually to reduce the risk of extrapyramidal symptoms.
Can I stop taking DINACE 2.5MG TABLET?
Do not suddenly stop taking DINACE 2.5MG TABLET unless your doctor advises you to do so. If you stop taking the medicine suddenly, the symptoms of your disease may return. Continue taking DINACE 2.5MG TABLET until your doctor tells you to stop.
Can I take DINACE 2.5MG TABLET on an empty stomach?
Take DINACE 2.5MG TABLET as advised by your physician. You can take DINACE 2.5MG TABLET at any time of day on an empty stomach or with food. Some people find they feel less sick if they take it at the time of their meals. Consult your doctor for advice.
What if I forget to take a dose of DINACE 2.5MG TABLET?
If you forget to take a dose of DINACE 2.5MG TABLET, take it as soon as you remember. However, omit the missed dose if it's almost time for the next one. Do not take the medicine two times to make up for the missed dose.
Can I take other medicines with DINACE 2.5MG TABLET?
Before taking DINACE 2.5MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking, have taken or might take any other medicine, including prescription, over the counter or any herbal medicine, as these might cause serious side effects by interacting with each other.
